Anyone in the Bozeman area ever go ride around in the horseshoe hills area east of Clarkson? I see some dirt roads, Pole Gulch, Skyline, Cloud House, and some stuff labeled as jeep trails. It looks possible to make a connection through there and come out on Menard Rd. I'm wondering if its actually possible or if at some point it becomes gated? I know a portion of the land is private, I've seen lots for sale, but there is a mix of public in there as well. If it is accessible do you think it would be possible to make it through there now or is it to early in the year still?

Glad @Clemson55 asked that question about Horseshoe hills too. I've been driving up Springhill to see how far back i can go but haven't ever made it up to Maudlow. Seems like there's some good trails up there but i'm sure it's mostly private on the Bridger side.

How far back does Boulder rd go? Seems like it would be faster cutting through Livingston and taking Swingly than going all the way out to Big Timber.. but not sure.

I hear ya! I'm looking to regear to 5.29s this summer and really wanna find some stuff in the (somewhat) local area. Friend of mine mentioned checking out Powell/Lovell area too but i've not been out that way before.

I've already google earth mapped it and converted to GPX and uploaded into GAIA. I'm wondering as much right now is it still under snow or a muddy slick mess?

Its pretty simple, the google earth mapping just takes time. I could airdrop you the gpx and you could load it in a minute before we left though.

I have a much bigger route mapped that comes back from the St. Anthony dunes through the lava fields and mountains past red rocks lakes and ends in Ennis I'm hoping to do in early summer.

I really wish we had something like sling arm city up here. Or maybe we do? I wanna play in fields of flat dirt but not drive 1000 miles to get there lol

Anyone ever been up near Ft. Peck? What's the terrain like up there?

No way can you get to Independence right now. be buried in snow. and muddy as fuck below. Best to way for June on that one or even July depending on snow pack. Probably gated right now.

The boulder river road though is super long by itself and pretty.
