Hey there, new to this website! I have a 2010 Tacoma prerunner v6 with 102,000 miles on it. There’s a humming/droning noise that my trucks been making for a while now. It still makes the sound in neutral, and it increases when I press on the gas. The sound stays the same when I turn my steering wheel.

I’ve changed the oil as directed, changed the spark plugs, and the antifreeze. No check engine light is on.

Do y’all have any suggestions on what I should check? Or should I go ahead and bite the bullet and take it to Toyota?

    Still thinking about it.
Hi and welcome. Is it a new sound that came on suddenly? Do you hear it all the time, even sitting still?

It started a couple months ago, can’t remember specifically. It makes the sound all the time, even at rest. I need someone else to help me see what side it comes from, I can’t tell if it’s coming from one side or not

Might be spark knock, run a tank of premium fuel and see if it goes away.
    I had a similar issue...at low/idle RPMs

When's the last time the serpentine belt was replaced? Does it sound like it's coming more from one side vrs the other? Front or toward the rear of the vehicle? Without hearing it, it's going to be difficult to armchair. Anyway you can make a video of it?

Possibly, check the lower ones first. They typically go out before the uppers.
