SR-71 No TPMS, haven't driven far enough. I think those sensors kick in once enough centrifugal force is generated to turn them on. Just put my summers back on and have yet to get them re-programmed yet anyway.

Why do you keep shifting to neutral?? I can't figure that out with an automatic or even if you had a manual?? No need to "double clutch"

Toyota really did a terrible job on the engine programming of this truck and they could really care less about customer satisfaction. My manual trans taco has a bucking sensation at 1500rpm it learns over time. Toyota laughably told me it’s normal, and to not shift below 3,000rpm... note the automatic happily upshifts at 1500rpm.... grrrr

OVtune 2.0 fixed it for the first couple hundred miles, and now its back. So, for now i continue to contend with a poorly engineered lemon, that the company doesn’t stand behind. For that and many other issues I’ve had, i’ve put it on the market

Best of luck, but since Toyota corporate has had their say, you’re probably hosed. Best you can do is see if other Tacos of your year also do it

The truck does it in neutral and drive and park. Just easier to get footage in neutral/park as it does it much more frequently in these conditions.. I often stop at top of my driveway and put truck in park to drop off garbage or pick up flyers. However the problem was first noticed and still occurs when switching from reverse to drive when backing out of my garage....obviously a more serious issue when it happens in drive. This truck has done this infrequently since the day I bough it new. First time it happened about a month into ownership. Has increase a lot over the past year and a half of ownership. Interestingly when the dealership loaned me a 2020 SR5 longbox it did the same thing and I have a video of that as well. Don't think it's just my truck. Be interested to hear from any others who may see the same issue.

Hey Thegenerik1, Thanks for your input. Not sure if you watched the video all the way to the end.. It happens in drive as well, total power loss when trying to move forward. Thankfully it hasn't happened while pulling through an intersection or backing out onto a busy roadway but given the increase in frequency of occurrence I'm sure you can understand the concern.

If fuel pump pressure is good now I would point to engine computer since its been reprogrammed, no effect, defective computer would be my guess

Thanks for the input jetfishn. I'm not sure if the dealerships computer diagnostic tools would tell them if the computer is malfunctioning or not.... I assume so but I'll pass that idea on to my service manager. Again thanks.

Thegenerik1, I know a manual transmission has no P or D.......I was trying to say EVEN IF he had a manual tranny there would be no need to "double clutch". Not trying to be a smartass, but do you know the term "double clutch"?? Some younger people or ones who have never driven a "stick" may not know what it means.

As I said, not trying to be a smartass......didn't know if you knew the term, as you didn't know that I didn't know that a manual had no P or D.

Wow, that was a bunch of "didn'ts".......
