really? I didn't have a single issue and I played through most of it on release and beat it the second day. Played through again to get the gnome achievement and had a crash of my own fault screwing around with OVR toolkit.

Yea that is most definitely overkill and no it won’t perform any better. I have seen some of the newer games are using more RAM due to poor optimization and what not. I really want one more 8GB stick to future proof myself for the next 7 years or sooner. And I can’t buy them by stick so I need the pair, therefore the 32GB.

Yeah makes sense. It's funny, Jay did a video not that long ago and on almost every game he tried 8GB of memory in dual channel was enough to run games at 1080p. 16GB made no difference.

So if I had any advice it would be to keep matching sticks in pairs so you can use the dual channels since that seems to be the most important thing to new games.

The only thing that sucks for upgradability is your motherboard. The 9000 series are the last chips that will work with the Z390 boards. In typical Intel fashion the new chips that are coming use a different board/socket.

I decided to go ahead and put my components in the case even though I don't have my RGB fans yet, I think it turned out pretty good, for now I went ahead and installed 2 extra Rosewill 120MM fans, one intake and one exhaust, once I get the fans setup in fan control I'll run Heaven and see what my temps look like.

Edit: GPU doesn't get over 52 C running Heaven at 1080P

Run Heaven in a window while running Cinebench R20. That'll really let you know where you stand for folding@home CPU and GPU simultaneous loads.

I would love to have those gpu temps. My rx580 stays a steady 74-75 playing Warzone even with the fans running at 1900-2100rpms.

Will do, I got distracted playing AC:eek:dyssey

What card do you have? Mine is an ROG triple fan so it has quite a bit of heat sink area.
I’m seeing 55C for GPU and 61C for CPU playing AC:Odyysey on very high.

Xfx rx 580 8gb with dual fans. Probably a combination of that and the phanteks case cyberpowerpc uses that probably isn’t the best airflow

FAH kicked in while I was playing assassins creed, 100% GPU and CPU utilization and it got a little warm, highest I saw was 93C.
Now I’m running prime 95 to see what it’s temps are like, it’s been running for about 15 minutes and temp is fluctuating between 83 and 87C at 3.8Ghz.

Running Cinebench R20 and Heaven got me up to 95C over 5 runs of R20.

I think cooking should be fine when I get the 6 fans installed vs having 4.

I was looking at some old orders from newegg earlier.
In July of 2005, I paid $270 for 2x1 gig sticks of OCZ ram.

    And a 6600gt I paid $156.

I also paid $150 for a 28.8 modem which was fast for it's time to I could log into dial ups.

Haha. well, I was 38 in 2005 when I purchased those whopping 2 gigs. So I guess I'm a bit old myself.

It’s interesting that your 580 gets that hot, I was playing with the settings on my card and noticed that ASUS has the temp limit set at 65C on their card.

What clock speed and memory speed is your card? Mine runs 1340Mhz for clock and 2000 for vram but I got it to Overclock to 1500 and 2005 respectively, it’s pretty stable (about 15 hours of ACO on it and the only occasional hiccup I have is in the abilities menu, it’ll drop to a 300 MHz clock and then jump back up to 1500.
GPU temp sits between 60 and 63c but I have an aggressive fan curve setup.
