It was the ball joint. I did Break 1 bracket and crack another at different times

 

Saw a fb marketplace ad for a tacoma rack and pinion with no hydraulic lines... thats indicative of electronic steering

I havnt done any research so dome take it as fact but if the rack in the picture was from a 3rd gen like the title suggested

I got 555 lowers but I also got new Toyota bolts for the replacements and 4 tubes of red loctite. Told my mechanic and he laughed until I showed him pics. And he just went "yea, alright I understand."

 

I wouldnt go that ham on the locktite, while its still liquid and you run the bolt down its like a piston trying to compress water

that has cracked castings before
