So at what point do people all decide this whole thing isn't worth it and just brave the risk and go back to normal life?

This is gonna fuck a whole bunch of people's life up financially more than getting sick will, in my opinion.

I agree. And at what point do the people say fuck this and go out anyway? Is martial law really worth it?

I heard that Bay Area hospitals are going to be 100% capacity in about 16 days, LA hospitals 3-4 days after. Reserves/guard is setting up cots/tents for the overflow

People need to understand this is a HIGHLY contagious disease that will most likely affect everyone. Just because you want to resume normal life doesn’t mean you get to. The isolation rules are to keep hospitals from becoming triage centers. The govt will be writing checks, so everyone needs to get their panties out of a twist and sit tight. Make smart choices so the hospitals can function, and it will all be ok. Time is the biggest factor here.

Too many people who are entitled and think the rules don’t apply to them. They have the mindset that “if everyone else stays home I don’t have to”. Sadly those are the people I’m not going to care about when they become a statistic on the nightly news. Just stay the fuck home

You know what’s fucked up? I’m a essential government employee who has to be at work who is eligible for the stimulus check. The wife is a nurse and is still working as normal. Why should we be getting $2400 extra for living our normal lives. Still getting regular paychecks.

I feel like everyone who’s still collecting normal pay and hours shouldn’t get a stimulus check and the rest should go to those who actually need it.

.....but I ain’t complaining about extra money.

It's not a support check it's a stimulus check... It's not to "help" people necessarily, but moreso help the economy because people turn around and spend it to "stimulate" the economy.

They’ve at least sort of prorated it for those making more - I think the cut off is a little high and people at that level don’t need the help. My wife and I will still get money but not the max amount. We are both still working (from home) and being paid regularly. I’m not concerned with my job stopping but she works for the school system so that could go away if virtual learning fails (it will). We are just going to save whatever we get because it’s unknown the tax implications next year and I’d rather just be able to give it back instead of worrying about it. Luckily we don’t have a mortgage payment until June since we are moving next week (hopefully) so that will help too.

I’m not going to feel bad about getting my tax money back.

We are fortunate as well but that isn’t anything I have to feel guilty about.

And it is stimulus money. So if you feel like it order takeout and drop $100 tip.

I was gonna drop my money on my mortgage or a Roth IRA. I think I’m going to wait all this out and see what things look like when this is all over. I may be giving it out if things look really bleak.

As liberal as I am I honestly feel I can find better ways to spend that money than the government and happy to do that.

I think the vendors on this site are gonna have an epic pay day soon lol.

Now that I think about it my new used car needs tint, a chrome delete, and a lift kit

Might be dropping half of it into the stock market. Seems like a good time to do it.

What is the stimulus check cut off set to? what if we are above that "set point".

I don't care either way, I probably won't get one or if I do it's minimal. I am still working my job exactly the same... Well, more cleaning involved now, but yea.

75k individual, 150k as a couple to get full amount. As an individual, it goes up to 99k but the $1200 is reduced by $5 for every $100 you’re over 75k. I forget what the couple breakdown is.
