He probably laughed his ass off.

Also, impressed they were evening listening. Haha. Had to have been a marine radio.

Knew a few people from out there. Interesting. But the younger generation blended in just fine with the "rest of society".

Yup! But jersey plates, so they must be evil.

There's a reason I up and left southern Maine. One big one is that the locals would harass tourists, massholes, etc. - the only source of income for a lot of these towns, and the locals got grumpy that their beach town is busy in the summer. :annoyed:

That was one driving factor. There were others, but that was a big one.

    "PEOPLE!"

Probably tried a few channels or straight to priority. I was impressed by that though, definitely made me resurrect my HAM drives. That said, I did actually not get to the HAM class before this whole mess, SO I'll probably do a GMRS license soon and work on my HAM next winter when I need something to do.

deferment would be fair, that's what most companies are doing (car loans, cell phones, credit cards)
or reduced payment. that's what we're offering to customers if they want to stay on

It looks like the strike is trying to encompass all of it, taxes, mortgages, everything. And you're right, not deferment, straight of cancellation of payments for 90 days. Crazy times...

Stuff like that infuriates me and makes me glad we sold instead of renting out the last house. The landlord should not be forced to lose the income that pays for the property because their tenants don't have sufficient emergency savings.

I get that some people don't make enough to easily build up an emergency fund, but come on--splitting rent and utilities four ways in Missouri has got to allow them to live pretty cheaply.

I’m on the fence about renting. We are making due without it so I’m thinking let’s not venture that route.

Like I said I’m all for deferment, I’m all for supporting people because this really is unprecedented and nobody could have prepared for this. It’s not that you don’t have an e fund it’s that if you’re laid off or furloughed, there’s no way to get a new job. For the foreseeable future. And people shouldn’t be booted out because of that.

but come 6 months from now, you still lived somewhere. You still need to reimburse for your housing, my mortgage doesn’t disappear if I call them up from being laid off or furloughed. I either have to pay up in a few months or tack it onto my loan.

I am only 26. The sense of entitlement from some of my generation is not an image I like.

How, are these people going to magically come up with the 3months rent, in 3 months? If they cannot now?

Second, it is an investment.. there is risk in investing...

Second, I suggest, we ALL stop paying everything. For...90days. probably how long it would take for this whole deck of cards to crash down so fking hard, it would HAVE to be rebuilt...

But, since people won't do that... I will just keep paying my bills, and focus on keeping my credit score, etc... Hopefully to jump on another income property.. if the market recovers enough...

Doing alright Brian. Living the country life. It's not so bad. Taxes went up a lot this year so that's kind of a bummer. But no complaints other than that.

Keeping the southern part of the state safe for us?

Yes, doing my best. Our taxes are expected to jump again . Is what it is and is a bummer. I’m very fortunate to be working but this crisis is stressful AF. I talked to a Amazon and a UPS driver . These guys/ladies are simply slammed. My niece is a nurse at Mass Gen and I’m worried sick for her, and I guess the list goes on and on ....
