I had my Bilstein 5100s installed with STOCK coils Saturday and I noticed it’s just too high and not good at all for my UCA and CV angles. They have it set at the highest setting (2.5”) plus toytecs top spacer on top of that. So should I take it down to the 2nd setting (0.85”) or the 3rd setting (1.75”) I want to keep the top plate spacer but also have it sit level with the AAL & rear 5100 shocks. Any thoughts would help

For simplicity purposes why don't just try to remove the top plate spacer and see how it sits so you don't have to adjust the shocks at all?

Just remove the spacer and keep it at the 2.5” setting?

From what I've heard, having the 5100's at the highest setting makes them ride like poo poo because the spring is so stiff. Did you lift it because of tire rub, or strictly for looks? If there is no rubbing I would run no spacer at all and put those 5100's to the 3rd setting so they are at least a little smoother. If you don't care about a bouncy ride, I'd just remove that spacer and call it a day. Unless you have a spring compressor and can just do it on the fly.

So I did it a little for looks and a little for tire rub. As of rn it’s set at 2.5” plus the spacer. So I’m gettin well more than 3” which I do NOT like. I got an AAL in the rear and 5100s in the rear so I want it to sit level. I either move the perch down to the 2nd or 3rd setting and KEEP the spacer or leave it at the 2.5” setting and LOSE the spacer. I just want it as level as possible.

Did you use stock coils? And is there a top spacer?

1DD0DFEC-EAFE-4043-BD81-0A735212A881.jpg How big of a spacer does this look like to you? It’s between .5 and 1”. I either wanna lose this and keep it at the 2.5” setting or drop it to the 2nd or 3rd and keep it for leveling purposes

My opinion is this. Get the truck as low as possible but to the point where you have no rubbing whatsoever at any angle offroading, anything other than that is for looks and destroying CV's and other things. I wouldn't run anything above a 2'' without getting aftermarket upper control arms.

That’s is the completely the wrong spacer. Get that thing out of there. That should Have never be used if your are using 5100s especially if you are not using the zero setting on them. You have preloaded the spring by moving the spring perch then preloaded them even more by putting that in. If you had a 4wd shop do that they should have known better. What you wanted was the 1/4” top spacer that sits on top of the coilover.

That’s what I was thinking. How much lift will I get out of the front if I take the spacer out but KEEP it at the 2.5” setting?

If that’s a Toytec spacer , it’s either giving 2,2.5 or 3” of lift that’s all they make in that type of spacer.

I think that’s what I’ll do, take the spacer out and keep the perch at the 2.5” setting. That’ll keep it somewhat level with the AAL in the rear along with the shocks you think?

There’s just add-a-leafs on each side of course and 5100 shocks. They’re just AAL’s that came from bilsteins website

I wasn't aware that was the type of spacer you were running, when you said top-plate I figured maybe a small .25-.5 spacer. I would get that spacer out of there and throw it away, it will only cause you problems in the future.

If it’s a 1.5-2” aal. You’ll be level or about 1/2” of rake. Just confirm how much lift on bilsteins website.
