Yes, pointy won't work. The point spreads the rivet wider and tighter against the sides of the hole

 

Back in the 90's Ford had a problem with creaking noises in the front frame where the engine crossmember riveted to the frame rails. Sterling Ford would send them all to us. We had to remove all the rivets, drill out the holes and install 9/16 case hardened bolts in them. It was GREAT money for a relatively easy job!

 

Is this guy drunk or something...gosh we might need to limit this guys inputs here on the forum until he can properly quote, especially since that @ready6delta guy moved out (aka got orders) to the left coast...

@crashdb if you couldn't tell I somehow failed to quote your comment about the bushings...oh well I guess that's what 25 days out of the last 30 stuck in the office writing about highly technical and specialized "stuff" you have no earthly connection to, see here goes the rambling!

I figured it out! I think we're all a little wonky currently.

 

Pretty sure I have a blunt attachment for it. I haven't used my air hammer in ages.

 

So we did @quis23 hammer hangers and inside the frame rails the rivets were tack welded to the frame, so plan on having a dremel or small die grinder to cut those tacks.
