Changed out stock dimming mirror to homelink mirror over weekend.easy change, just check plug on stock mirror to see how many pins it has.than find gentex homelink with same plug on eBay,junkyard ext.homelink mirror needs two hot wires plus one ground wire.on my 2020sport I had only had one hot wire when you turned ignition on.so to get the other constand hot I spliced into dome lite.easy project

I installed one when I owned my Tundra (2008). Then realized it is hot all the time so if somebody broke into my truck, they could open the garage. Never programmed it after that.

And before anyone asks, no, I don't leave an opener in the truck for the same reason.

FYI. Bob the mirror guy has a plug and play wiring adapter that resolves the power issue when installing a homelink mirror on a 20 Sport.

20 Sport w/o factory installed homelink requires splicing power or using Bob’s adapter cable in order to get the owner added homelink going. Bob found out that 20 Sport models built after Oct 2019 do not provide full time mirror power as earlier models (e.g. owner added Homelink mirror only powers up for 10 seconds after start up).

Yep, I worked with Bob on figuring this out. However, it doesn't just power up for 10 seconds, it just doesn't work. You get power once the ignition is on but the mirror doesn't work. Bob's harness just splits the power wire and provides power to the other pin. This is actually super nice because then you can only use the homelink if the vehicle is turned on (i.e. someone can't break in to your truck and open your garage). If you are worried about your factory one being on all the time, you could get his harness and do the same thing. I think he charges $20 for the narness.

That's because they are factory mirrors.

2020 Changed so there's no longer fulltime power, the wire is there but it's dead.
