I’ve been running 265/75r16 for about two years now and just upgraded my wheels to a the F5’s today. According to Discount I’m at about 7/32s on the outside tread but like 5/32s on the center. That’s with about 40k on them too.

I’ve really enjoyed them but I’m looking to upgrade to a larger tire for my next set.

What size are you going to and how much lift?

All Falken AT3W's have 2 ply sidewalls. The LT just has thicker ply's so that might be the reason that it felt more stiff.

Falken never made a AT3 only a AT3W. Cooper was the one that has had an AT3 around for a long time.

My E load 235 85 16 AT3w's have the 3 peak mountain snow symbol. I think all the E load AT3w's have it but, I'll stick to just saying I know mine do. I only mention this because when I was tire shopping, it was hard to figure out what has it and what doesn't.

Yup, my E load have the 3peak symbol.
I dont live in snow country yet, later this year. But in Florida I think of it as a lil extra traction for the rain.

They are great on road tires, would I buy them again? No because they are useless in the clay type mud we get out here. Other than that they are pretty decent for the price, wear great, balanced great (one of my wheels actually has no weights on it lol) decent in snow and great in rain.

I don't live in snow country either, never even paid attention to the little symbol until last summer. I like to road trip a lot, last May I was camping in Ouray with plans to spend the following night outside of Santa Fe. An unexpected overnight snow meant that traction laws were in effect (and being enforced) for the highway in between. I stopped for coffee, did a quick google on what qualified for "traction laws" and realized I was already good to go. Bypassing would have made for a very long and miserable day otherwise.

Nah. Back in action. Bounce back has been great. All vehicles paid off, house paid off, zero debt. Just living life and helping others.

Reason I was so abrupt is do to the recent mounds of BS being poured into the forums about tires, fog lights, etc. I went through making bad purchases having owned several Tacomas (one from each gen) and I don’t want others to do the same. Spending money based on bad info is never a good thing.

It’s crazy how many people buy for looks and not true function. That to me is mind boggling and not how I would place trust in information...suckers do that

I’m looking at 285/75r16 for my next set, so essentially 33s. That’s roughly a 1.11” lift from stock wheels and tires (265/70r16). But I’m also running 5100s with OME 887 coils on the front so I already have about 2” of lift there.

Hmmmm I was always under the impression that size with a 2" lift will rub and you have to grind away the wheel well.

Of course if I go any larger then it's also time for 4:88.

Yeah and I will more than likely do the work to prevent the rubbing.

You'll rub. Unless you get some UCA to adjust camber. Even then you'll probably still rub a lil bit. Because of the width of the tire. 255/85 should fit a bit better. However, tire choices are slimmer.

Yeah, after doing more research they may actually be a better option for me.

I'm running SLs with no wear or balancing issues at all. I got mine for about $120 each on Amazon.

Question on ride. I'm looking to upgrade to a larger size tire on my stock 2020. Looking to go to a 285/75/16 over my stock 265/70/16.
I can only find these in an E rating. I can get these in a SL rating in 265/75/16. But I really want 285/75/16's which only comes
in an E rating. You guys how's your ride compared to stock running the E rated versions of these? Also how much did the added
weight (61 lbs.) add to the feel of the truck?

The ride is stiffer, as said multiple times in this post and many others comparing SL to E loads.
As for the weight of the tires, you will feel the weight combined with the added size. As a manual, 6th gear is pretty much useless unless flat ground cruising. No power to use it otherwise. I am NOT regeared.
If you are Auto, you will find that the truck will act same for 6th, it'll probably bounce between 6/5 constantly while at at speed.
If you get 17inch wheels, then you can run 275/70R17s which are C load. I ran that size for over a year and those were very good overall. Gears were useful and ride was perfect. I only moved up size due to certain offroad trips I had in the plans. I needed shear size basically.

Why do you feel 265s were a waste of money? From my research, they seem to be a great fit for these trucks without the numerous drawbacks that larger 33” tires inherently create.

I’m trying to avoid larger heavy E Load tires that rob power, performance, mpg’s, give a harsher ride, are more expensive, and cause major rubbing issues when mounted on an aftermarket wheel with specs like my Ray10s.

Don’t get me wrong, 33’s look badass, but I can’t think of much else they offer over the 265s for my needs/wants. The extra 1/2” ground clearance 33’s provide, in my opinion, does not outweigh the problems & issues they cause. However, I’m all ears if you can convince me otherwise.

Have you not seen the billions of hair care products... clothing lines.... different colors of phone cases, dog leashes, shoes, purses, etc.... LOL.

Aesthetics top pretty much everything in the country - 1st world problems as always. So, while you will not be convinced by this, many many will. I am not even going to exempt myself here - I could wear the same clothes everyday for years. I buy the same shoes every other year.. etc.

But, my Taco... I like the 33s lol
