Very good point. I just have trouble figuring out a reasonable price to pitch. So far I've been "unrealistic"

Go to Toyota's website and run through the build tool for the Tacomas and put in what you are looking for, or what you see on the lot. If you are comparing to something on the lot, make sure to match the exact same options and accessories. That should spit out an MSRP for you to compare. You'll probably want to target a final price (before TTL) of around ~10% off the MSRP price, and BEFORE rebates and such. (That should be pretty accurate for anything other than a Pro, which usually you are lucky to even get at MSRP on, much less below it.) That seems to be what most people are able to get off the truck. Of course you might do better or worse, depending on the dealer. Also, make sure to cross shop at multiple dealers and if nobody is giving you a good price you can try to pit them against each other.

Walk, no run away from both those deals. I'd be surprise if you don't get a call back in a week or two from that dealer with a new offer.

but....when you say out the door, what is the price of the truck(s) before TTL? That provides a better basis to assess the deal.

Good point too! I'll tease them with a reply here n there but I wouldn't give a counter offer. Just to let them sweat a bit.

Just paid a bit over $39k OTD for a Quicksand DCSB OR 4x4 AT w/ technology package. Only paid extra for window tint since I didnt feel like having them remove it. The vehicle arrived at the lot 2 nights ago so I couldn't pick it up same day, but we went to the lot to take a look at it and it had 2 miles on the odometer and came from factory with upgraded LED headlights and side steps, which I did not have to pay for. Overall I feel like I got a decent deal.
EDIT: MSRP of 40k, purchased for $36k with about 3k in TTL.

It would help other TW members if posters would simply mention the MSRP and purchase price only.
Tax and license fees vary wildly between states so mentioning an Out The Door (OTD) price doesn't really mean anything to those in the market for a Tacoma.

    A few.
Its the total interest over the term of the loan with an 84 month loan thats the problem. If ur getting the 0% interest for 84 months that could be ok.

Definitely- in a perfect world we all drop cash right away and get it over with but very few people are that lucky. I'd rather pay $XXX/month for 8 years (or even longer) for a brand new Tacoma than have the same monthly payment for 4-5 years on something that's already pushing 100k miles (and for the price wouldn't be a Tacoma). I probably wouldn't want to stretch out payments that far on something like a Ford or Chevy but I'm pretty comfortable knowing my Toyota is going to go over 200K easy with my driving habits.
My point was that I (and many others likely) am okay paying more over a longer term if it gets my monthly payments down to something I am comfortable with and knowing that I'll still have a ton of life left after the loan/or still have solid resale value.

question for all you guys, this sounds really dumb but im looking to buy one!! specifically a dcsb TRD off road in cement or voodoo, am I able to order the $450 LED headlight option even if the car is delivered? say, deal that into the total of the car and the dealer orders the headlights and when they come in I just Bring it in? I know it would be simpler to just order one with it, but out of whats already out there would this be possible? thanks in advance!

Sorry but to add the Led's through the parts department will add more than 450 to the cost of the truck, so I think a dealer will tell you to pound sand but you can always check.

Ha- I’ve had mine for a month as of tomorrow. I’m at 634 miles- I’d wager that half of those miles are new truck joyriding that I wouldn’t normally do...

Distributor add ons (not dealer installed].

“Ordered” a manual Pro with zero options in Sept and received a similar percentage discount and Toyotathon discount incentive. Pro discounts are not uncommon in my area.

FNG here! 1st post on TW. New truck on it's way to me right meow. This pic from the dealer is all I have.
TRD OR 4x4 MT w/ premium, tech, LEDs.
    MSRP= $41,355
    Sale price= $37,342 w/ $500 mil discount

I had a 2020 white Pro MT on order. Port date was 14 Apr, then they shut down production...I just got back from Saudi and needed some wheels so I happily got this OR from a dealer in FL ($970 shipping from Tampa to Shreveport)
The Pro is still coming to east Texas if anyone wants to snag it, should arrive about a month after production starts again. The dealer sells at invoice.
