I have the SL's and they have the Three Peaks snow rating as well. Have done well in the limited snow driving I have done...

I think my stock good years actually handled some snow better than my wildpeaks. I have personally felt in plowed roads they were great. I went on a trail covered in snow with my wildpeaks and the guy with stock wranglers behind me even mentioned how much more I was sliding. The stock Goodyear’s are underrated in snow.

I feel like they were a waste of money because I had them for 1 year and got rid of them. So, by definition, a waste of money. 33s do give you more ground clearance and with E rated tires its more than what on paper shows based on tire sizing charts. Plus, if you're really gunna argue 1/2" then you have to take that mentality for everything. My CMC only cut off 1/2" but that made all the difference for rubbing. My offset only moved my wheels out about 1/2" but that allows me not to rub on my UCAs and fit 295s. Our trucks aren't that heavy to begin with so I have noticed extremely tiny amounts of power loss. Surprisingly I also get better gas mileage on these. Not sure why. And yes I've done the math (factoring in odometer inaccuracies due to larger rolling circumference).
For me, 295s give me a very nice footprint when aired down, and most of my off-roading is in sandy terrain so a large footprint is helpful.

And damnit, yes, they look so much better than 265s!

But to each their own. You decide what our needs are but for me, I wish someone told me to just get 33s from the beginning and be done with it.

Can’t say1/2” ground clearance is same as CMC being only 1/2”. Percentage wise a CMC is like 20% of the cab mount depth where as 1/2” is 5%.

Well I might have done mine wrong then cuz I cut a good chunk out of my cab mount. Didn't even bother to fully weld the plate on. Just tacked it in place to keep large debri out of the thing. Lol. Rubberized painted it to hell though.

Ride is great, feels more planted. No vibes at all, i did not do the ecgs. Originally for) got right at 2 inches, haven't remeasured yet to see how much i lost, sounds like 1/4 inch is about the norm.

I put a set of E-rated 255/80r17 wildpeaks on my 4runner a couple weeks ago. The Discount Tire techs didnt have any problems balancing the tires. I was in and out in less than 1 hour.

Less than 500 miles on them but so far they seem to be wearing fine and I have not noticed any vibrations or shaking.

Date of manufacture on all 4 is the 52nd week of 2019.

I have a mild bilstein 5100 lift lol. 1.75 front, 1.25 rear. The tires ate up all the gap.

    Flatter shot from straight on.

Falken marks at least some of the Wildpeaks with a red dot and yellow dot on the sidewall. This has A TON to do with whether you’ll get your tires balanced. It is old-school and even big-name tire stores don’t know what they mean these days. If you aren’t using aftermarket wheels, have them align the yellow dot with your wheels’s valve stem (as seen in the pictures on the first page of responses). Prob solved!

I’m running heavy E load 255x80x17 on my 4Runner SEMA’s and love them. Mileage obv dropped with height, weight and lift happening at same time..

Just a heads up, I’d bring it back and tell them (after doing your own research) that the tires should have been mounted with yellow dots aligned with valve stems. It probably requires a lot more weights than needed when they don’t and may cause balancing probs down the line. Looks like rear tire is wrong and front might be right. Sweet setup though!

Whats even crazier is the ones who get suckered, refuse to admit they got suckered, and will die on a cross defending and recommending the bunk product in the face of indesputable facts. I cant begin to tell you how many of those idiots ive blocked on this site alone.

What pressure and load rating is everyone running their wildpeaks at?

I’ve run both SL and now running E rated. Went 265 to 285 after the SL wore like shit. Down to 9/32 after 8k miles. My E rated have worn 1mm in the same amount of time. Both sets balanced good, track straight. The E rated is by far a way better built tire. Mpg difference is negligible 1-2 depending on terrain. They’re better on and off-road. The SL have a soft compound like a snow tire. Wear quick af. The E rated are better in every condition, mud, snow, rain, rocks whatever. I know some like them, but the SL are straight trash.

Mildly stiffer. Removed the softer roll feel the truck had. The only time I really notice any difference is on washboard roads, so just slow down some. But even on trail access roads I can run 20mph+ without any issues. Plush these are far more grippy. The SL had a wallowy feel even with aftermarket suspension.
