I needed a way to transport my 16 foot canoe. I added a single Yakima core bar for the front and a bed extender for the rear. Should work nicely.

    Welcome to TW Bud!
Been using the Darby bed extender since 2011. Probably one of the most practical and useful additions that I've ever bought for my Tacoma.
    Very smart purchase! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

To anyone that doesn't have one this is one of those items that once you use it you'll wonder why you didn't buy one sooner. Takes up almost no space when stored in the bed of your Tacoma. Carry mine almost all the time.

I've always wondered how a setup like this works when the truck articulates. I know some of the roads I traverse to get to fishing spots will make a nice twist to the truck. I think the canoe would take a lot of stress. I put 2 Thule racks on my cab. Don't have a picture with canoe on them. It works well with my 134. Have not tried my 169, yet.

This is so awesome, exactly what I was looking for! How did you attach the square tube to the mounts? And do you happen to have a link for the mounts?
    Again - great idea man!
Edit: How long did you cut the tubing? Thanks!

Installed some ebay step rails. Not bad for $100. I lined them with a couple coats of rattle can bedliner before installing them.

The delay could just be that they are trying to get through on the phone to get the background check done. I was at the range a couple of weeks ago and the owner was on hold inline for over 4 hrs just for a background check. Firearms according the owner wss the number 1 seller over everything else right now.

They are American Racing ar172 17x9 w/ -12 offset. 285/70/17 k02s. I have a 2.5" lift and did the cab mount chop / moved the front fender liner forward about an inch.

When I was younger, I left the oil cap off of my '91 3.0 in Tok, AK. I made it way further than I should have before I noticed, and paid waaaaay too much for this redbull on the Alcan to fab this up....

MN, there is such a high demand right now that background checks are delayed, and the shelves were empty. They are limiting ammo purchases too.

On my 2011 I brought my Tacoma in to a dealership for one of my Tacoma Care oil changes. 500 miles or so later I was adding windshield washer and noticed my oil cap off and sitting in the engine compartment.
Very first thing I checked from then on after they changed the oil. Done with my free (? Nothing is free) oil changes so thankfully that will never happen again now that I'm doing my own on my 2017. Your post had me remember this. Heads up everyone, it happens!

Don't worry firearms are still being manufactured as their employees are deemed essential!

I cut the box tube at 55 inches, then I used rivet nuts (the go into a hole like a rivet, then clamp down). The pool noodles come in 52 inches, so they cover perfectly and leave just the ends open.
Here are the mounts I got, I got the unpainted ones because I was not sure if I would weld or bolt the tube down.
    https://www.relentlessfabrication.com/products/05-tacoma-bed-rail-mount-tab
I also ordered plastic caps for the ends of the tubes to keep things from making a home inside the tube. I also sprayed the hell out of the inside of the tube with fluid film to prevent any rust inside.

Yeah, though the people at fleet farm never called me back about my background check, and then sold off the gun I was looking at... so I guess ill be waiting a little longer.
