Am I the only one here that thinks this covid shit is way overblown? In my 45 years of life, I've never seen this much hype over a virus before. Certainly not shutting down the economy. The swine flu in 2009 was declared a pandemic and Obama declared a national emergency. But nothing was shut down.

We got the notifications at work.
Someone forwarded it to the local news.
I said "leaked" previously, but it's not really a leak if it's public info.

This one is highly contagious; much more than elderly need to be intubated and attached to a breathing machine just to live through it. It is also killing lung cells, and scarring pulmonary tissues. Also- anyone can be a carrier and be asymptomatic.

If my math is correct- based on current trends since inception in the US, we should have nearly 675k cases by end of day Sunday 4/12 in the US alone; we'll see if the curve flattens by then... There is a reason schools around the nation are closed.

Governments around the world tried to contain the epidemic. Now the goal is to contain the pandemic before this becomes endemic every year. Thankfully there is so much the news is NOT saying. The public would panic.

Just enjoy the time now. Things will recover.

It's a good thing the media doesn't report every single influenza death. The world would lose their collective shit.

yep, agreed! And flu is 10x LOWER death rate the this virus... If this virus is only 1% fatality rate.

However, as of right now in the US, fatality rate is 2.2%...

This thing scares the shit out of me. The thing I hear a lot from people, is "I feel fine, I am good" I then proceed ask them how they know they dont have it. "cuz I feel fine" :smack: correct me if I am wrong here. People can have this thing and no show symptoms, and still be contagious. They dont know what the life cycle is I dont think, is it 3 weeks? who knows. The lack of sanitation and people not keeping their distance is disgusting. We are deemed an essential business, we are operating under the premise of assuming everyone you come in contact with, has it. Until you know you dont have it, which is by testing only, or showing symptoms, you really dont know. I am taking my temperatures every morning, just to know where I am at and so I can notice a change and take appropriate actions if needed.

100% Spot on, brother! We can all be carriers for up to 21 days- based on current knowledge and be asymptomatic. Even then, anyone can be infected at a later time. This is the reason for the quarantine. Stay safe!

People die all the time from a huge variety of issues. It's just always fascinated me that people freak out more about HOW people die than THAT they die. Over 2M people this year have died from hunger, 245k from malaria, 1.25M from smoking etc.
94k people have died just today!!
