All AR lowers are forged in one or two places. Every CNC machine that machines lowers uses the exact same CAD file.

Don't spend $$ on engraved spiders, skulls or snakes.. These don't improve performance or make you a better shot.

Buy more than one lower at a time to spread your FFL transfer fee out.

Buy a good barrel made from a reputable blank.

The wife had some mods done to my .260 rem for my birthday. Bolt handle lengthened, skeletonized and fluted, makes resetting the firing pin easier while staying on target. 03B98749-60AB-4D25-B987-43C4E1C91734.jpg0A922526-32C0-44FF-89BF-7ADD70457136.jpg

I agree with all of this, with the caveat that not every CNC machine is equally well maintained, nor proper machining principles followed. Figure out a reputable manufacturer with a history of doing things right, and doing right by their customers.

Just accept now that one is going to turn into 12. :spending:

I feel like a bit of a fanboy these days but in my opinion you can't go wrong with Aero Precision stuff. They are actually one of the few actual manufacturers of lowers and regardless of what brand name is on it they probably made 75% of the low to midrange stuff you are going to find, so might as well go straight to the source. They usually have BLEM items on their website for a good discount and in the half dozen or so blem items I have bought I could only see 1 extremely minor blemish. Their customer service has been great in my experience as well.

Decided to use this "physical/social distancing" time at home to fully disassemble (to the best of my abilities) all of my firearms and give each a thorough cleaning. Planning one per day. Should keep me busy for a while.

You just gave me another good project. I have a Marlin 60 that jams, FTF and FTE, good time to pull it apart and clean. AND lube properly.

    Hey Folks,

Picking up my first EDC this month - Sig P365. Any suggestions for comfy IWB holsters? Sidecar, no sidecar?

Starting to wade through online reviews, but it’s a lot. Also I wear athletic clothes often, so something that would work with sweatpants / gym shorts, if that’s even a thing? Thanks in advance! Stay safe out there.

I bought mine from this company and I am in love with it. Very well made, and you get to support a small American business.

That little bulge in the kydex presses against me, and tucks the handle in closer to me for better concealment.

It's a lot of personal preference, many people go through a handful of holsters if not more before finding the golden goose.

I would like to try a holster with an Ulti-clip mounting system, my current holsters use either a single large clip or two smaller clips at the edges and while I prefer the physical holster of the large clip I want the two smaller clips on it for more stability.

My first holster was an aliengear 3.0 and they work well but it's definitely a holster for jeans and a loose T-shirt or something similar, it's comfortable but not super easy to conceal. The holster I'm currently using is a "CCS" holster from Black Rhino concealment and it has an allocation for my weapon light.

I would look at a few different ways to carry for different activities. I’ve tried to run in short shorts with a gun....I got a belly band holster the next day. Short of kiestering, I still haven’t figured out a way to wear pink board shorts with no shirt on and not scare the gen pop with a printed or open carried gun.

I use a Galco IWB like this https://www.midwayusa.com/product/957221207 for an XDs and also a M&P Shield depending on what I feel like carrying that day. They are comfortable to me, I carry it in the 4-5 o clock position. It doesn't print with me as long as my shirt isn't too tight.

I don't know about carrying with with sweatpants or gym shorts, I can't get mine to stay up with just my phone clipped on them.

Oh yeah, I should have clarified mine's only for appendix carry. I used to carry at the 4 o clock but switched to this. 4 o clock was comfortable, but it was harder to conceal when bending over, like at a grocery store. I find appendix is much more comfortable for me. I'll agree that it does take some experimentation to find what works best for you and you'll likely go through a couple of holsters.

This is what I used before for the 4 o clock. Once that leather breaks in, you forget it's there.

Sounds like you're planning on Appendix carry, which is pretty doable in athletic clothing. I've heard of guys going with belly bands or even just a belt worn independently of your other clothes, underneath, to hang the gun from. Sidecars are nice for balancing out the way AIWB can bulge your frontal waistline, though I'm fond of a separate mag/light/knife/tourniquet pouch/holster in that position that isn't tied to the sidecar.

I guess I’ll add to the list. I like White Hat, they will do pretty much any custom job you can think of.
