Few years ago when I first moved to Hamilton,
I got a great deal on a low KM Civic that was lowered and had a body kit on it with the ground FX. Low profile tires etc.

Ground FX were pulverized within a year. So was my spine. Lol I felt like a marble in a coffee can tied to the ass end of an epileptic chicken.

Sold what was left of it the next spring and went to trucks for daily drivers after that year.

Starting to get my strength back after that bug, so started my spring polishing of the truck, quick buff with Carpro Elixir on the Hood, front fender and doors, added 2 more coats of Cquartz 3.0 to the hood and front fenders and only one on the doors so far. Still have fenders trunk and roof to polish and going to have to compound the front bumper as it has a bunch of scrapes from branches and road debris pitting. Same with the air dam. Might just cover those with 3M Xpel wrap as they get hit quite a bit. Same with the grill surround. Less work than polishing them out again. We'll see.

You guys were mentioning how shiny it was in Feb, ha, it wasn't even washed then.
I can't take a proper picture with my crappy phone in the sunlight, too much glare.
But suffice to say holy crap, you can see why the 202 colour code, is called Black Onyx. Literally looks like an Onyx mirror.
Best colour imho for a show vehicle, just makes you want to rub your nipples looking at it all cleaned an polished.
Absolute crappiest colour for a daily driver or production vehicle. Because it highlights even the tiniest flaws.
A micro scratch that you could not find on white or silver in the sunlight, looks like a gouge in this colour.

Had to take a quick pic before the dust settled... and pollen season really kicks in. Only about 3 mins of clean time with a black vehicle.

Makes my tires look bigger too!

    Sure no problem!

    Power wash Rinse,
Foam Cannon with dish soap to strip wax,
    Power wash Rinse,
    Foam Cannon with Carpro Reset,
Micro Fiber wash mitt with 3 bucket system wash,
    Power wash Rinse,
-Since your truck has never been ceramic coated these steps get added,
    Spray with IronX
    Foam Cannon with dish soap,
    Power wash Rinse,
    Clay Bar
    Foam Cannon with dish soap,
    Power wash Rinse,Dry
DA Orbital entire truck (4 passes) with cutting compound with Orange pad,
Highlight and polish any deep scratches with 2-3000 grit paper, then re-compound those areas.
    Foam Cannon with dish soap,
    Power wash Rinse,Dry
DA Orbital entire truck (4 passes) with polishing compound and Yellow pad.
    Foam Cannon with dish soap,
    Power wash Rinse,Dry
Inspect with cross-light and re-polish any areas needed.
-Same steps for 2 year maintenance on a ceramic coated car from here on
DA Orbital entire truck (4 passes) with Carpro Elixir, hand polishing, wiping down as you go.
2 coats of Cquartz UK 3.0 on vertical panels, 3 coats on Horizontal panels and front facia.
Wiping and buffing as you apply.
Wait 1hr if you put the truck in sunlight or 4 hrs between coats for the quartz.
    Coat with Carpro Gliss (optional)
Wait 24 hrs then add 1 coat of carpro reload with spray bottle, wipe on hand buff off.
    Let sit in sun.

No water can touch it for 24 hrs, no soaps, detergents for the first week.

But since I could have had "the bug" you won't be able to touch the outside of your truck.
    You know that 2m rule...

    You know ...
Bur sure bring 'her right over, happy to help!

    :D

It'll add an extra half day for all those tires!

this sounds like a much simpler method than i have!

    Rinse
    Powerwash rinse
flip the car around since the hose is too short
    power wash rinse
    No foam cannon :(
Handwash 1 panel at a time with Mothers soap using microfiber cloth using 2 bucket method
Flip the truck around because half of it is in the right of way
Handwash 1 panel at a time with Mothers soap using a new microfiber cloth using 2 bucket method
    Power wash Rinse (no soap)
using a q-tip and rubbing alcohol+water mix, clean edges of clear bra, all 15 feet of it.
Dry windows with new microfiber cloth
Use Simonz foam glass cleaner with the above drying cloth
Rinse and move to next window
    repeat for the back window
Rinse entire side of the truck
flip truck around and do the other side
Dry windows with new microfiber cloth
Use Simonz foam glass cleaner with the above drying cloth
Rinse and move to next window
    repeat
    Rinse entire truck
Hand wax entire truck with Mother's California Gold Brazilian Carnauba cleaner wax

Closest the Taco got to a wash in 2020, was 3-straight days of rain without a re-application of dirt.

Had OBD2 error code P0012 pop up today on my Ultragauge, thinking its time to LS swap ;-)

I know right!! Blaming myself for binge-driving. A combination of inactivity, followed by extreme exercise of the 6-spd and all the available rpms.
(Over)Due for an oil change too, only 6k on it, but in there since Sept. Hoping some fresh oil and more exercise (not me, the 4.0) will flush out any crap in there.
