Got my income tax done, had dropped it off last Saturday, preparer will e-file both Fed and Kalifornia for me, didn't want to wait much longer, they said they would be off a little bit later in April. For me, if sh1t hits the fan, I'll have it out of the way. Emailed my financial guy to see about reducing my Fed withholding on my IRA so I can get more each month instead of a check in the Spring. So going to not only reduce the % of withholding going to reduce what I pull from my IRA.

You mentioned Germany.... so if they knew it was coming, did they tell anyone? Us perhaps, so we could ramp up preparation? :notsure: https://us.yahoo.com/news/mass-testing-empty-icus-germany-073831725.html

    Evening all:
    Sue!
Interesting article, appears like they were just better prepared overall than most other countries.
I just saw some "QUOTES" from top leaders in NYC before the virus really hit there, nothing to worry about, and if it comes here we're prepared, yea right! :crapstorm:

    Good morning, all!!!

I will stay away from offering my thoughts on the NYC leadership. There is a terrible tragedy in process there.

Stay home, stay safe, stay healhy...and stay thirsty my friends.

    Morning all:

Yes, terrible what's happening in NYC. The post wasn't meant to be political in any way, just getting back to how really ill prepared and vulnerable we are when something major like this confronts us as a nation, especially our big cities. As I also stated before, maybe they wanted to downplay this virus somewhat so as not to create an all out panic, can only hope they come up with something soon to help minimize the impact of this coronavirus. Now that it is worldwide, hopefully it isn't a yearly outbreak like the flu, I don't get flu shots but would not hesitate to get a vaccination for COVID 19.
Just saw where they are saying that 25% of those with the virus either show no symptoms or very mild ones, sounds like there are many more people infected than statistics are showing.

I didn't take it as political, Carl. I'm just holding myself back from saying how I really feel and that WOULD get political. :D

    Gooooooooooood morning y'all,
I wish they would quit showing only the sad stories and show some positive stories on the news.
Started back filling the trench where I replaced the sewer pipe for my septic system. Used my wheelbarrow, bucket, couple plastic containers in the truck bed to fill with loam/sand from a spot by the creek to fill around the pipe before throwing dirt over that. Taking my time to pull rocks out of the dirt to make it easier next time if needed, hopefully won't be me. Just love touching rocks that I dug out of sewage a few weeks back when I dug a lateral trench. Going with the theory that exposure to air and some UV would purify it some. :)
Did I mention, a old Coleman lamp I bought that had a stress cracked fount (tank), a fellow stovie had the correct fount he is going to send me from Montana? Dates back to 1912-1922.

Morning folks :hattip:. On a different note, I am waiting on my Grunt style t-shirts to arrive Mark. Didn't get the hold my beer shirt. I'll post pictures when they come in. Went to have a CAT scan on my back this morning. In and out in 40 minutes . Just trying to stay safe and social distant myself. So stay safe out there folks and read a good book or watch a movie. :)

Sounds like you have a great stove/lanterns network Duane . Helps getting needed parts to keep them up to snuff. Before you started posting here, I would have never thought there was anything going on with collecting old stoves and lanterns. Good hobby :D.

Meanwhile the company I work for is allocating money to keep paying the people who have nothing to do and were sent home. And offering free connectivity to anyone and everyone via several methods. And assuring people that they won't get disconnected due to inability to pay their bills. And offering free accounts to people who can't afford them. And our techs are still out there, connecting those people and fixing issues and generally performing daily acts of heroism. I'm really proud to work for Comcast right now. We're keeping people connected. Speaking of which, I better get back to work!

Good practical lessons still occurring. Does not require my intervention at this point. They will get married, life will go on. I suppose I post such things to show just a tiny microsection of life that is not life or death. 1st World Problems and all that :D

@wdb We can't get anything but HughesNet satellite internet and their voip phone service here. No cell service or land line. ATT won't service their land lines anymore, even though it was government mandated when they allowed them to go merger crazy years ago.

Spectrum is owned by ATT now, so even though their lines are only 2 miles away, chances are it will never be extended to the people who need it.
Once the trees leaf out, HughesNet won't even work here. Wife says I shouldn't cut trees down. Wait until her internet goes out, haha. Need firewood for next winter anyway..

I wonder how schools are going to provide online classes when there's no internet service available?
Thanks Trumpski, FCC, etc. for enforcing that mandate, NOT!:annoyed:

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the monopoly setup either. If you have landline phone, maybe your provider offers DSL? It's slow but better than nothing.
