    brass fitting in aluminum cap?

ok ok sorry...its the return from the by pass oil filter system......OEM oil filter ...filters to 20 micron +/- (micron" is an abbreviated term for "micrometer", or a millionth of a meter (1/1,000,000 meters). This is about . 00004 inches. For Size comparison, a human red blood cell is about 5 microns across.) This filter is 98% efficient at 2 microns. The system supply comes from a tee fitting under the LOP switch, filters 7-8%of total flow, and returns the clean oil thru the fitting in the fill cap.

If you are planning to change one or both of the cig lighter ports to a USB/voltmeter do it now. Its a PITA to get that portion of the plastic out. The rest of the dash has to come apart.

Finally got my fuse block mount plate that I designed and fabricated myself mounted up! Need to make a few adjustments and whip up another one but happy with it for the time being.

Engine bay looks fantastic. Would you tell us how you cleaned it so well; garden hose, pressure washer? Did you use any type of cleaning solutions? Was it necessary to protect any of the electronics or are they pretty much waterproof? Thanks.

Nice work! A dirt driveway, no garage and Maine weather preclude me from your level of cleaning. Unless I miss my guess you are using Griot's garage cleaning brushes. Grabbing some popcorn to hear what your cleaning solution is since others have asked.

wanted to ask the same thing

Wanted to ask as well. Looks like a pro detail brush of some sort.
I bought this at HFT for the convience of a cheap product available in person, but it might not be as good.

Last time I went on the truck was spraying a mix of 50/50 diluted with water Purple Degreaser of some sort, but it tends to dry quick and didn't seem to work very well, let alone fast enough to do anything more than just the rear diff (cleaning up leaky plug washer oil)

No judgement, but that brush is crap and is only really good for removing very stubborn areas of grease or dirt where you do not care if what you are cleaning gets scratched or not. A good set of detail brushes should not break the bank and while it will cost a LITTLE more, it is an invaluable set of tools to have for proper cleaning of your truck inside, outside and underneath. A would advocate subscribing to the buy once cry once method for these brushes. There are some decent boars hair brush sets on Amazon as well. Find some with good reviews and add it to your cleaning arsenal. If taken care of they should last a lifetime. And the right cleaning solution and cleaning procedure is as important or maybe even more important than the brush you use.

Edit: If you are having trouble with your cleaner drying up before you finish cleaning then you just need to clean smaller areas before moving on. Deep cleaning is a serious time commitment.

I personally use meguiar’s wash and wax soap, brushes to get in the hard to get places and 303 everything followed by a microfiber to remove the excess. I Never used any abrasive cleaners. Also it takes me a whole day to do the undercarriage.
I normally do motor and interior one day, wash and wax truck another day and undercarriage last. But it was so hot and sunny here in so cal that I decided to do the undercarriage first. Today motor is coming. Stay tunned.

Just dusty and dirty from the rain and the road. The fact that has 303, it makes it easy to clean though.

I’ll move this to the detail section once I’m done. I’ll get some before and afters.
