They do have a slight texture on them. If you want something smooth, either get OEM ones or buy my bedliner painted ones and scrape/sand/peel the bed liner off of them. $cheap plus shipping. I can get pics later. Mods delete if not rule followed.

Too bad I didn't know. Have a brand new set still in the box that I'm not going to use. Could have saved you a couple bucks depending on shipping destination.

Ah well, I should be better about posting WTB, but you know when you're sitting on the can modding your truck...

EDIT: bigmace is looking to spray his a few posts up. Maybe you sell him yours and he can find someone to buy his chrome ones. There are definitely people that like the chrome.

Also another small mod that most people probably won’t care to do lol. I ordered some JDM AStar turn signal LEDs to get rid of the amber bulbs. Didn't really care for the amber reflection and wanted a cleaner looking headlight.

How difficult was it to install them? I bought bumpershellz but I'd prefer to just replace them completely. I've been reading that you basically have to remove your bumper.

Not difficult to do with the bumper still on. Basically the same amount of work to install the bumpershellz.

There are 4 clips you need to remove at the bottom of each side. 3 on the cap and one on the center bumper piece.

Then 2 caps on the side. These can be difficult to remove. I used a cotter pin puller, but a pick with a 90 degree works too.

Next pull up on the top bumper cover directly over the cap. Be careful pulling up on this as you could break some of the clips and they are molded on the cover.

Then there's a blind clip that you won't be able to replace unless you remove the whole bumper. You just pull the cap towards you and angle a little away from the truck as there are angled studs in there. The metal clip will just fall out.

    Install is the reverse.

I just watched a couple Youtube videos of different people doing it, got a couple tips from that and just did it.

I feel like for $20 you can't go wrong. Also, no hyperblinking which is nice.

I didn't realize that the bulb is what made that whole area look amber. I'm going to have to do this as well.

Installed an aftermarket stereo over the weekend (Pioneer AVIC-W6400NEX for $474.95 from sonicelectronix.com).

An option that might be of interest to others...I just used a step drill bit to place the Pioneer microphone right into the mounting faceplate.

    AVIC Installed Pic II.jpg

Also decided to build a stereo for the patio using stuff already laying around...old RAV4 6" speakers, Tacoma Tweeters, leftover stereo, a 12V supply from a seat heater, and a plastic box.
Sounds surprisingly good..and is it was free.
