:rofl:Gold. We had a supervisor that started here a few months ago and when he first came over and told me to do something when we were running pretty busy, I just said "no". His look of sheer shock made it worth it. He asked why and I simply stated "I am currently doing my job here, but I see a few of your new shitcases not doing there's, so why not ask one of them instead." Didn't get written up, he just walked away.

Yeah, I really feel like it’s only bc ours are so small. Doesn’t make it any less unnerving.

I worked 2nd shift in another machine shop for a few months years ago. When one of the other guys and I would have our machines running and the doors shut we would stand back and talk, with our safety glasses off. Supervisor would always tell us to put them back on. One night I opened his office door to use the phone and woke him up, he had his head down on his desk asleep. After that night he never told me to put my safety glasses on again.

So....a few months ago this guy asked me to pull some product off the line and put it back in the freezer so it wouldn't thaw...a couple of hours later he asked me to bring it back. Ok...no problem. So I bring it back and he asks me if it had been in the freezer. I said, yes...it has, just like you asked. Then he starts feeling of the boxes to see if they're cold. I freaked on him.....I was like m%therf$cker, you think I'm f%ckin lying to you?....
A few minutes later another guy walked up to me and said, that guy is a supervisor, he just started a couple of weeks ago.:anonymous:
I hid out the rest of the day.

Saw a clip on the news last night of bodies being loaded into one. Was unsettling to say the least.

There's a form for a "verbal" write up ... that they want you to sign? o_O
    https://youtu.be/VEP6WX0CcFk

When I was on active duty the supervisor would chew out (counsel in snow flake speak) their subordinate. If it was serious, the supervisor might make their own memo for record (MFR) that only the supervisor signed. That form is bullshit, or at least the name is bullshit.

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like maybe stepping away from the news, and maybe even social media for a while? It's a conundrum for me. I'm bored, so the good people of TW are a welcome distraction from boredom, and I care about them (ya'll), but the big picture becomes depressing after a while. :notsure:

... maybe I just need a nap?

Right there with ya Rob! I have minimized the amount of news I watch and read cause it's just overwhelming. To add, I feel like it takes three times as long these days as EVERYTHING has to be fact checked!

I hope it does too, but how many small businesses are going to close. Those are the real backbone of the engine that runs the real economy. If this crap goes on for much longer, many small operations will close for good. I'm also worried about some of the smaller Oil Companies going bankrupt. I have no desire to have maybe 5 or 6 Major Oil Companies controlling the price of crude oil and gas prices after this is over. I grew up in the Oil Business and I have no doubt that many in the industry today are out of work. The whole idea of shutting down everything is stupid. Why not let businesses stay open in areas where there covid-19 outbreak is small. I know this much, I'd rather have our current President in charge of the recovery, than anyone on the opposing side.

I'm betting that the system of capitalism as we know it will finally die.

    #optimistic

    h4299.jpg

That is suspicious. A verbal? Just for that? Did you kick your co-worker in the genitals at the same time?

The ice cream business is brutal.

I have a standing agreement with my supervisor that anytime being an extra special kind of asshat, he can hit me in my nuts, but I get to go home for the day. If it's within 2 hours of me leaving, then I get to leave an hour early the next day
