depending on where you live in Cali its not that hard to get a permit to carry...and once you have one its good throughout the state and Cali has very liberal laws on where you can and cant carry with the permit you can visit arnold at the govenors mansion and carry to a public school etc...both are illegal in GA which when you think of the deep south you think gun culture but we are very restricted here in GA

you have a seat belt in your tuck i want to know what you are planning on doing wrecking your truck?

you have a fire alarm in your house i want to know are you planning on burning it down?

its just good sense to have the best tool at your disposal last i heard you arent notified when a violent criminal will attack....

also as a christian you are charged with being able to defend yourself(a sword is definitely a dated tool) but in the book of Luke, Christ tells his followers to be armed:

you also have a far greater chance of being assaulted out of your home in public than you do in your home...

I was pulled over for doing a rolling stop through a stop sign in front of my uncle's house, so my uncle tuned into his police scanner. He said they knew about my CCL before approaching the vehicle. I'm guessing they go off the license plates and assume the owner is driving.

in VA an officer does not know you have a permit until you either show it to him or he runs your drivers license. also its not required to tell him here either.

i got stopped once and when the cop found out i was carrying he became a nervous wreck. was rather entertaining.

I was stopped by a Motor Unit for speeding. I told him that had a firearm in the truck. He shrugged his shoulders and said " Don't point yours at me, and I won't point mine at you " . I thought that was a pretty cool line. :fenforcer::fenforcer::fenforcer:

This is how I choose to carry while driving. It's very easy to get to and does not get in my way. It's an Springfield Armory XD45 .

lol... mine went more like this.. he ran my license and they told him i had a permit. then he asked if i was carrying and i said yes. he asked if i would pull it out and set it on the dash. sure. then he asked if its loaded.. i tell him not much good if it isn't right. so he asks me to unload it. drop the mag out and then as i shuck the round out of the chamber his eyes get huge! hes like... damn you carry it loaded!

was one of those had to be there kind of moments but was hilarious watching his reaction....

Hula girl on dash, that's it.
First of all, sorry if this is a bit of a threadjack. And thanks for your comment. I hope you don't paint all canucks with the same brush. It's just that I think what happens quite often there is a vocal minority here in Canada when it comes to the issue of weapons and self defence. These people don't want to accept the responsibility of taking care of their own protection. The reality is that there may be times when a person has no other option. If that ever happens to me I won't go down without a fight. And yes, I do envy your 2nd amendment.

i would have politely declined to do this...this is why im glad in GA there is no database i dont want some cop with a twitchy finger getting excited for no reason...

this is 2 cops from my home town who are in the midst of being sued for civil rights violations.... including their use of deadly force(although the trigger wasnt pulled pointing a gun without cause is aggravated assault)
