I'll bite. How do these compare to the unbelievably squeaky Dakar heavys with an extra leaf?

Lol it's just a stock pack with an AAL.

I have Dakar heavys with an extra AAL and they aren't that squeaky after I fluid filmed them up

My day yesterday was going to be a quick rear axle seal replacement. Then I broke a mounting stud because I forgot my right from left, and in my research on replacement, I learned that gear oil destroys wheel bearings. So $400 later and I will be squared away within a week.

Saw your other posting. That's sucky. I never knew about the gear oil killing wheel bearings. Them brake-y things don't look so hot.

I didn't either. I thought it'd be a simple job to replace the seal and the shoes, but noooooo. I just replaced the drum brakes a year ago too, so it was all fresh :bananadead: I'd say the worst part was I didn't have any gloves to wear when doing the disassembly and cleaning. It was messssyyy

I'm sure. Gear oil is my least favorite auto fluid smell. I almost puked when I walked into ECGS. It's never as simple as we think. Even my wife has figured it out.

It's a very distinct smell. On the plus side, if makes it very easy to identify if you have an unknown leak somewhere.

"Gear oil destroys wheel bearings"? How many of the worlds transmissions ( and differentials) are at risk? DUH?

This is going to be big news for Timken (who owns most of the worlds primary patents on anti-friction bearings), SKF, FAG and others.......

It washes out the grease that's in the wheel bearings. Two separate, competent, people told me that yesterday, completely independently of one another. So, I'll listen to them.
