    Update:
    So after getting the quote, I made an inquiry with Toyota corporate and ask if there was anything they could do for me. Being the truck has 150,000 miles, it was out of warranty (which I knew), my argument was that the truck is barely 3 years old and gaskets should not be failing already. Knowing the second gens have the time chain cover gasket issue, I mentioned that.

    it was more of a conversation, than an argument. The lady on the phone was extremely helpful and very appreciative that I had just bought another 4Runner the week before. She filed a corporate claim and told me she would know something within the next week.

    so yesterday, she called... with great news... Toyota has stepped up and is completely organizing the dealer with parts and scheduling the repair work. Along with paying for every penny of the labor, parts and anything else that takes place for the repair.

    I am very thankful and pleased to own multiple Toyota’s. And just so you know, make a phone call before pulling the trigger on expensive work. You never know what a simple question can lead to. Saved myself $2,600+ for making 20 min worth of conversation.
