@christian06 This is held on by just one bolt, right? Looks to me a thief could leverage a crowbar against the bumper and force your device to rotate upward enough that the tailgate is free to move.

Why not extend your device just a couple inches further, so that it could be mounted using TWO of the existing bolts?

 

First, it wraps around the hinge post so it would be quite difficult.
Second if the curved part was any longer, it would no longer be able to slip on, trust me, I made it as long as it could be. Plus cost would go up.
Third, no tweeker is gonna spend 20 min trying to wrestle your tailgate off when they can simply take your neighbors in 3 to 5 seconds.
Out of over 300 sold, I've never had a complaint.

If someone wants the whole truck they're more than welcome to steal it. I wouldn't be heart broke one bit. I'd file a claim and move on with life

 

I would be heartbroken, you cant just go grab a 2015 Offroad 6 Speed off the lot.

 

Life is too short to stick with one vehicle forever. Who knows the 3rd gen Tacoma could be what the 7th gen Civic was to Civic lovers, a stopgap in shit before becoming great again.

I received the bracket from you I think four days after ordering, shipped to Canada! That was awesome. I primed and painted it to match the truck, it looks great! I'm just waiting for a new Torx bit to arrive today so I can install it!!

 

I want one! still have them for sale? Has anyone been able to find a longer screw to make it work at ace?

 

They have them at ace, just not the tamper proof one, they are a standard Allen flathead
M8 X 1.25 X 30mm

If you need to get it off, you can heat it up alittle and the epoxy will soften up enough to dig out.
