Anyone have any feedback for a PC and if it helps the sixth gear stay on highways? If i hit a bridge, it down shifts but stays in 5th or 4th until i tap the gas a few times and it finally shifts to 6th. If i didnt notice it, it would probably stay in 5th gear. I know the PC doesnt add horsepower, i just want better shifting.

Pedal commander doesn't do anything for the transmission...its a " throttle response controller"

It won’t help that. The only thing that will is gears or tuning.

If you know what it does then why ask about something it doesn't do?

    Hey there.
I recently installed both the pedal commander and the shift sense pro to see what i liked the most. Yes I realize they do different things. I have hated my truck searching for gears between 4/5/6 since going to 265's when my truck had 1K miles. The Pedal sensitivity of the pedal commander is cool but seems slightly useless after about a week of using it. I installed the Shift sense pro about 1 week after and have had it for about 1 week so far. In my opinion the SSP improves the shift mapping to a tolerable level and it actually holds gears where any other normal automatic car or truck would. Now it won't just dump from 3rd to 6th below 50mph dogging it down to like 1K rpm. The best solution would be gears or stock tires but I'm not wanting to do either of those things. Hope this helps.

Yes, actually I would to know why you claimed to know about how the pedal commander works but asked about how it affects shifting. You asked a question about a throttle response controller...you didn't ask about Shift Sense Pro or OVtune both of those things do change how the transmission acts.

if you have any driveability concerns with motor power delivery and/or throttle response, and if you ever feel underpowered, then i would consider OVT since it will attend to the motor and trans both. that's the first question. you can try to deal with shift points but if you also have motor/tune/power complaints then i would go consider the stone that kills both birds. or tries to, depending on your truck details.

yeah the news is a little unclear due to the different versions and all, but i would watch the used part marketplace here like a hawk. if you can find a kit for sale, OV will sell you a license for $325 and you'll have access to all the tunes already released for your ECU version. but yes that's not ideal at this point.

I have over 2000 miles on my Pedal Commander and yes it did fix my shifting issues. Don’t listen to anyone who has not actually had a PD or OVTune on their truck and put any significant miles with it on. PD is good for balancing out your shifting/driving habits. After running through multiple setting I finally stopped on city -2 which makes my truck very peppy no hunting for gears ever at any speed. If I actually set this thing on sport it roasts my tires at every corner truck wants to act like a race car. Very easy to install or uninstall takes maybe 5 minutes. Was worth the $225 I paid for it and is still on my truck running very nicely. My son has had his on his Tacoma for 20,000 with the same results and he hauls multiple things around with no issues. Hope this helps since it’s a pretty cheap mod that can be taken off in 2 minutes if you have to take your truck into a dealer. Good luck with your choice.
