How old is your oil? When my oil gets old it can sometimes be finicky to put it into neutral and the clutch will start doing funny things.

Change the oil and see if it helps. The clutch breaks in a lot during first use.

When is the break-in service? 600 miles? I'm guessing it'll get better after that. Also I'll second @Sacrifice , clutch and other wear surfaces shed a lot of crap during the first few hundred miles.

I always had trouble on dirt bikes finding neutral for some reason. My Harley I hit it every time with ease.

dirtbikes are designed that way so you dont hit neutral when you need to be hitting 2nd. they also dont have syncros and are straight cut gears from my understanding

The Valkyrie is loaded with false nuetrals. Real nuetral...not so much. For such a refined bike, it shifts like a tractor

the 690s grab neutral all the time false and real. theres actually a detent to replace and it helps with the false some but i still grab real neutral quite a bit unless im firm on the shifter.

If you were to do it again would you go with a 701?

not necessarily. i like the look of the 690 more. from my understanding the 701 had some differences in 2017 but im not totally up to what the differences are now. minor stuff i think.

They contacted me today and said the ball was dropped somewhere between the exchange side and the refund side. Originally they were going to exchange the jacket I ordered but were unable to so it changed to a refund and something went wrong.
