    hahahahaha

luckily I haven’t done that but I’ve welded the gussets on the same way for each side which gets in the way of the bolt hole pattern and I’ve also made 2 left sliders and 2 right side sliders once. Luckily that’s stuff you catch before giving it to the customer hahaha

Good call on battery. Ill be tearing the head off this week so it likely would already be done, but otherwise overlooked. The hole is just rust repair. The Jeep was a frame off resto in '99 but started its life in New England and the rust prevailed despite every rust prevention paint claim ever. The TX Jeep is the old lady's. She's a Texan, I'm a Rhody. AF has us in KS.

Scrap is great if you can! The steel yard across the street from my work charges $0.30 per lb. It's really great when you only need a foot or two of something for a project.

Haha. I'm embarrased. I thought that was the back corner of an old Landcruiser. Even worse, I own a Jeep too!

Probably going to venture out to AirGas today and price some tanks. Theres also a supplier 3 minutes away from them...

Be sure to look at refill prices too. I just picked up a 155 cu ft tank of 25/75 about 2 weeks ago. Priced out airgas and the local welding shop, they were within $5 for the price of a new filled tank ($255 vs $250) but Airgas wants $150 per refill vs $45 at the LWS.

Also I was originally looking for a 120 tank but my LWS explained that in my area everyone stocks 80s and 155s, said he could get me a 120 but would be a pain to exchange for full ones. Something worth considering since it sounds like it varies regionally.

Cut out some frame plates for my buddy who is heavily modifying a 1970 GMC. I think he said he was lowering it. He’s building new arms for it and needs the frame to be beefed up where they attach.

edit : not lowering it lol. Just needed the frame plates for the new arms he’s building for it

What do you all use for welder carts? Is it worth having a tall enough cart for a plasma cutter? I feel as though they're light enough not to worry about it. I'm leaning towards a harbor freight model thats nice and lo-pro. Screenshot_20200402-203213_Chrome.jpg

I have the cheapo cart from them. Works well enough for me and my little welder.

Different context, but I use BIM360 and BIM360 Field daily and think that it's one of the most powerful tools I use.

Need some advise, input, pointers, experience with the following, and maybe direction. Looking to buy a miller welder. Looking at Multimatic 200, 220, Maxstar 280, dynasty 280 or a bobcat 260. Use would be home projects, fine tuning pipe skills, hobbyist, learning and teaching.

Airgas charges over $300, here in Hawaii, for a 120 cuft bottle if c25. The cheapest I found was $210 from a different vendor.

I got my 141 cu ft bottle for $300 and it’s $48.50 to fill every time I go. I have 2 tanks and it’s just under $100 when I fill them up. I use the Praxair down the street from me

My first ever welding project was this welding cart. The one thing I regret is not making it a "double decker" as I now have too much shit piled on it. When I get more material, I will be building another deck on it.

Wow, that would be great if we had prices like that. Those prices I gave were only refills/exchange.

I was gonna like your post but I can’t! $300 just to refill the tank???

Most places here you either leave a deposit for the tank and you pay for the gas fill up (basically renting) or you buy the tank and then you just pay for the gas fill up (swap tanks).
