You are sooo correct! I was at MCAS Cherry Pointe in '90 and we picked up 18" of snow Christmas Eve. Locals couldn't drive, and some guy from Socal almost put us in a ditch in a Hummer. And the Michigander was told no, we don't your help. All that being said, I prefer it stay up north. I'm tired of shoveling it.

 

A little over a year later and it was time for new shoes. Fuel Nitros matte grey with a +1 offset and 265/70/17 BFG KO2's.

Sorry, didn't see this until now. Yes they're black with a textured finish like the black plastic trim on many Tacomas. They are not OEM. Side by side I can't tell the difference. I bought them from Rock Auto a year ago to replace those butt ugly chrome end caps. Tapped a tree and decided to go for a real bumper after looking at the cost to replace the damaged parts. No paint or sheet metal damage so I was lucky.

 

Yeah I know, I'm just razzing @dand a little. I really do think someone will try and swipe it on him at some point in time somewhere. People don't respect others or their property way they use to.
It's black, bright red, shiney, brand new and not very inconspicuous.

For those very same reasons I keep mine in one of the compartments under the rear seat. Out of sight, out of mind but there when I need it.
