I picked up some 2012 blinker/power Sport mirrors to swap onto my 2008 off-road. From what I’ve read I need to ground one of the 4 wires and tap the other into the blinker.

The question is, does anyone know which wire is which l?

Second question, can I tap the blinkers in at the fuse box or do I need to go into the engine bay?

1M is in the back of the cab junction/fuse box.
    1B & 1D are in the front...

    I appreciate the response/diagrams.

As I look at this... it looks as though I am reading Chinese, and I'm only a Spanish teacher.

I am a little confused by the second diagram and the 1M, 1B, 1D. I see that those are in the junction/fuse box. Are you saying that those are the wires I would tap into if I do it as the fuse box vs. running a wire directly into the engine bay?

    Just found this link https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/blinker-mirror-how-to-w-pics-diagram-schematic.436569/
Gonna see if this doesn't solve my problems. I'm a picture book kinda guy.

    Yes.
If you look closer at the drawing to left, it shows the wire color for left & right front and rear...it's all labeled.
Each pair has a connector for the front turn signals(1B) and one for the rear turn signals (1D).
The 1M connector will not be present if your vehicle lacks DRL. (Day Time Running Lights)
The DRL are the same lamps as the signals if you have the 12 pin relay installed in your Tacoma.

Do I just ground the ground wire on the door somewhere, or is there somewhere unique it needs to go? I looked at the "How-to" that I linked, but i'm still confused as to where to ground since it looks like they ran a ground wire in the same wiretap where they ran the signal wires below the dash to the rear signal plug.

There are bolts holding the wire bundle next to the door tweeter, or run it through the door boot and use the bolt that is right there when you enter the kick panel. Same on both sides.

    Passenger's side:

Finally took mirrors and doors apart to manually run wiring since no harness in 08 RC to make these blink.....

Anything fancy or did you simply splice into the front corners? Do they heat?

Used 4 pigtails with just the right size clip to be snug in blinker plug and spliced speaker wire double strand red/black to them, thru mirror mount, down in door thru boot to cab and tied in at lower kick panel to rear blinker wires. Passenger side i ran thru dash after leaving door all the way across then down to same spot in driver kick panel. No not heated or folding. These are just pwr/blinker..........after I wire the pwr part to the switch on dash and tie it into a fuse. RC no harnesses to plug into thing. No key fob pwr locks, pwr windows or alarm either...key in door for entry, cranks to roll windows down and garage for alarm.
