Are sales even open at dealerships, i thought only service departments? There is no reason to spend hours at a dealer. Know your credit and what rates you are qualified for.

If you're ok with a lease, Freeman Toyota is leasing Tacomas for $200 at signing and $200/mo for 24 months. Tundras for like $249/$249. Ive had 3 coworkers buy new trucks in the past 2 days.

Due to everything going on, most dealers are by appointment only and you'll need to pre-fill a credit app online.

The Chevrolet dealer I sold cars for would make ads for vehicles that never even had an existing stock number. One of the many reasons I quit after 3 months. I cant do business that way.

Friend of a friend was a Toyota GM. Made buying my truck super quick and easy. Less than an hour, no addons, everything agreed to ahead of time.

    Definitely recommend going this route.

the finance guy is worse than the salesman, all the GAP and warranty and maintenance packages, they make you say no 3 times to each deal, ugh

Not just because I work for them, but honestly buying our Jaguar from Park Place was the most painless car buying process I have ever been through. We were in and out within 45 minutes. One salesman did the entire deal at his desk over an ipad. Never met with a finance guy. And im including selling myself a car in that. Lol.

My prediction is we won't be back to "normal" until the first week of June.

Normal by June? It’s gonna be longer than that. We’ll easily be dealing with this through the summer with another possible shelter in place when the second wave comes.

While this is great info and I have done this a few times, it does take a lot of research and effort for a headache that doesn't always workout in the end or within the time frame I am looking at. I usually stick with people I know (or referred to) who work for the dealerships so I can cut through the BS. My Toyota guy quit his Sales Manager position in SF to go work for Audi. I used to call him up, tell him what I wanted and he would give me lower than invoice price, delivered to my house within a few days. Pampered I guess. I was an easy sale and I get new cars frequently.

Haha, wish it was easy as the game. I hate sales people (though I am one). I shouldn't know more about their product than they do. Let alone the run around because they don't/can't make a decision.
Will check him out. I was actually looking at a Tundra Pro too. Appreciate the info.
Thats an awesome deal! Wonder what a Pro's pricing is at. Thanks for the heads up.

Edit: Checked out Freeman Toyota and they are jacking up their prices 5-10k on the SR5 Tundras. Thats over MSRP rate, even more over invoice or bare bottom pricing. By the time they pay off their 24month lease, they will have a purchase price of what the standard MSRP rates are here in DFW. Can understand how they can push that deal.

I'm predicting fall, August - September.. if this virus doesnt do well in the summer as reports have been stating, maybe the cases will slim down by then and we'll have toilet paper on the shelves.

Check in. How’s everybody holding up? There are plenty of stressors floating around and I’m here if anyone wants to chat or call.

We had an acquaintance commit suicide from the pressures over everything happening. Not everyone is dealing with the same circumstances, but everyone is feeling the effects. Please don’t be ‘too macho’ to talk to someone if you’re feeling impatient, confused, angry, or frustrated. Our state of affairs is extremely real, extremely ambiguous, and extremely sensitive. Please don’t treat it lightly.
