    A few.
Mudflaps used to come standard on toyota trucks until the 3rd gen tacoma. I had some older tacomas and tundra get beat up along the bottom even with the mudflaps.
Unless u drive nothing but main roads, consider some type of running board or wider step bar if u dont want mudflaps.

I really find it dependent on where you live and what you drive on (gravel, etc.) AZ, holy hell without them chipped, with them still chipped. Here in IL and when I was in NJ, no guards and just fine (but I was a mall crawler, besides occasional sand pit, pine barren dirt road).

I added aftermarket mudflaps after switching to more aggressive (offset) wheels (SCS Ray10) and tires (Falken Wildpeak ATW) because I noticed an increase in pebbles and rocks getting flung... plus I got tired of washing the truck all the time.

Edit: I think it also depends on if you stay stock, where you drive etc. But having people that drive behind you in mind is definitely good advise.

Wrench! Put them on, and take em off when you off road is my suggestion. O K, after actually reading your question, you like the looks with out them. I would say "take them off." Put them in a safe place, Justin Case.

I run them. Don't care for the look but hated all the rock chips I was getting when my truck was all stock.

I had the mud flaps removed before I left the dealership on the day of purchase. Just didn’t like the way they looked. From the side, the gave the appearance of less ground clearance.

I added rek gen mudflaps after a few weeks of ownership.
I visit our gun club about twice a week on average, so I drive lots of gravel roads there, and sometimes getting there. I could instantly see the difference after adding the flaps. Before I added them, I would have the spray of wet gravel more than halfway up the doors, and the rear quarters had a good bit too. When I'm parked, I can see small rocks stuck in the tread of my tires, so I'm sure that noise is my tires throwing rocks in the wheel wells.

Mud Flaps help keep the sides of your vehicle cleaner, protect from chips, and make your rear running and brake lights more visible to vehicles behind you. I've been behind vehicles where you could barely see their lights through the cloud of water mist they kick up. I don't like the way flaps look but will always have them.

If your going to run a wider tire that extends outside the fender well, I doubt if any mud flap will help.

I have a shitload of rock chips at the bottom of rear fender flares and some on the metal part as well. I have mudflaps, and it still happening. I really want some sliders to protect better, but cant afford at the moment.:sadviolin:

yes. especially correlating to the tire you are running. some pick up more gravel and throw it at your paint. if you drive on gravel frequently get flaps and a touch up pen for your paint code to fix what the flaps dont deflect.

The moment I bought my Taco I removed the mud flaps, side steps and front bumper air dam. Much cleaner look and nothing to get hung up on off road. I had ice buildup on my mud flaps on my Titan and the weight broke the mud flap as well as the fender flare. Remove em!

The mud flaps definitely made a difference for my panels but not enough of a difference to keep them. Next stop for me is sliders and wider mudflaps like RokBlokz.

I'm in the same boat, might be another year until I can afford sliders. Looks like work won't pick up until mid-late summer for me.

Same here, im working but its slower. Still better than EI though. Im glad i have a job to go to right now. We provide essential service so its ok for now. We will see whats gonna happen...

Funny thing is, i just spent 800$ on a borla exhaust, right before all this shit started happening haha. I love it though, sounds and looks amazing.
