You can catch this shit just going to the store. Granted, a cruise isn't on my agenda at the moment, but a ship isn't a good escape zone. They should get the non infected outta there. It's hit our military now. I don't think they are going to hang out off shore without doing something about it.

    • The coronavirus has spread to at least a dozen US Navy sailors assigned to ships in San Diego, California, according to Navy statements.
    • The first three coronavirus infections aboard San Diego-based US Navy warships emerged among sailors assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer and Littoral Combat Ship USS Coronado. The Navy has changed its policy and is no longer reporting which ships infected sailors serve aboard.
    • Since the policy change, the Navy has reported nine additional cases among sailors assigned to ships based in San Diego.
    • As of Sunday, at least 111 US service members have reportedly tested positive for the virus.

Well aware how you can catch it. The Roosevelt has a bunch. They should not have stopped in Vietnam, dumb.
However, that was 5,000 sailors. Not a cruise ship. Big difference.

You're not going to hear how many cases the Navy gets. They are already taking steps to cover it up.

WASHINGTON, April 2 (Reuters) - The U.S. Navy on Thursday relieved the commander of the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt, who wrote a scathing letter that leaked to the public asking the Navy for stronger measures to control a coronavirus outbreak onboard the ship.

The removal of Captain Brett Crozier from the command of the 5,000-person vessel, which was first reported by Reuters, was announced by acting U.S. Navy Secretary Thomas Modly, who said the commander exercised poor judgment.

Modly said the letter was sent through the chain of command but Crozier did not safeguard it from being released outside the chain.

Hell no you’re not, of course they are.

And that’s as far as I go because CoC rules. Don’t want Trex hammering me.

So let’s “reward” the commander trying to take care of people and frustrated by lack of support and fire him. Nice message for other commanders.
Oh, I think they’d line up and take turns on us after recent events.

Some of us might get hit twice.

I don't think that this is being a cold-hearted bastard. The 'offended' are allergic to facts, truth, and reality.

I think most of the world has heard both 'stupid is as stupid does' and 'you can't fix stupid'.

I REFUSED to leave the US last year.

I REFUSED to travel since January.

Did I get fired? Nope. And IDGAF if I did, because I don't get compensated for being stupid.

Helping someone who has accidentally ended up in a bad spot is noble.

Pandering to selfish idiots is a waste of resources, and drags the rest of us down.

Want to prevent this from ever happening again? Bring back the merit system, and bring back family values, for a start.

Don't need keystrokes. Just go to CVS buy one or two items, and voila....the receipt should provide at least two weeks worth of TP.

And creating six trillion dollars isn't political, it's a hard cold fact. One with inflationary troubles down the road. That's economics, not politics.

Those ships are registered with countries other than the US, so that they can avoid US legal structures while on board, not to mention ship inspections, fees and regulations. There is a pandemic going on. I think letting them dock in the US is extraordinarily generous under the circumstances.

The fact is those people were likely following the guidance of the US leadership when they boarded those ships. The truth and reality is we could have found a way to bring them to safety. Leaving people to die on ships without hope or help is inhuman.

Every man for themselves here in the USA.

You have the freedom to take a cruise during a respiratory pandemic. You also have the freedom to figure out how to get your ass home. Best of luck.
