Yolo county schools just closed for the year. Some places are adding shelter in place until Mid-May. I don't forsee things changing drastically until June at this point. Businesses are gonna be dead. Guess I might be able to buy a house for fairly cheap.

The ones I've seen around Lake Chabot were only three times in 20 years I've lived here. But all three times were in the last year. When I lived in Oxnard, (Ventura County) there was a big story in the LA Times about nesting pairs in the SoCal area, and that they were making strides to re-establish themselves. A nesting pair were on Catalina Island, as well. Pretty cool. So, we know they are out there. Just not always visible.

When cases start to level out I hope that the Governor sees that this action is killing the economy. I swear California had the worst of it in Dec, Jan. My wife was very ill in January. Fever, headaches, the other nasty stuff. But way worse than normal. For three days she holed up in our guest bedroom. The entire episode lasted well over a week. Wouldn't go to see the doc. Based on the fact the virus was spreading in Dec thanks to China not telling anyone, over 700,000 folks from China were traveling to and from the US. On the West Coast that means LA, SF, Seattle, mostlly.

Here is the link to search specific species. You can also search by locations for all species. A lot of ways to explore the data.

    https://ebird.org/map

I have an account to a non-public CDFW site that tracks records of endangered species. It has nest locations. PM me if you are interested in nest locations if you're a photography guy.

I got one of the worse flu's i've ever had in January. Knocked me down for almost a week... started in my lungs to and took weeks before I stopped coughing (mostly when I exercised). I've heard the regular flu is pretty nasty this year though, who knows.

I also agree this is going to kill small businesses, particularly here in small rural areas.

I also wonder how they're going to quantify how many lives this shelter in place is actually saving...? Going to be interesting.

SIP orders are meant primarily to reduce the load on the healthcare system so that it's not overwhelmed. By extension, some people who might have died had there been no ventilators will live. Given there is no real treatment and no vaccine yet, this thing could (and probably will) keep going. At least, that's how I interpret it.

Me and the boys have had something more than mild (small fever, headache, etc) a few times now. Erica had something similar monday. But healthcare workers aren't being tested, and if you are healthy enough to get to work... throw that mask on and get in there.

Yes, I am not joking about that last part.

I wouldn't be surprised if antibody tests get added into standard blood work for awhile. Just to kind of get some idea of the real numbers.

Tank shell holder Idea 1, Fishing pole & general tool storage. Turns out you can fit 2 fishing poles(broken halfway down) in each. Probably more if you take the padded liner out but I actually like the padded protection inside.
You can also fit 2 -3 growlers in 1:anonymous:
Im going to make some wooden Lids to close off the top, and some brackets to mount up under the RTT rack (crude red arrows for location).

Spotted owl tastes best when cooked over a camp fire in the forest. Thing about those frogs is, you need quite a few if you want an appetizer for your owl.

This is a cool tool for looking at the effectiveness of SIP: https://covid19.healthdata.org/projections

Even without enough tests, looking at hospital beds, and especially ICU bed availability is a good marker. A week ago CA was expected to peak in mid April, and now it has moved back to late April, which is barely keeping us ahead of bed availability. Washington also, who were the first to get COVID-19 cases, have severely flattened their curves and are now looking like they will have borderline enough ICU beds. Compare that to NY, which has half the population of CA, but they are totally overwhelmed and were weeks behind SIP orders. Almost every other state is expected to be short ICU beds whereas CA is expected to stay barely ahead of it. That's a good indicator that SIP orders are actually working. Hopefully with other states instituting similar orders they can flatten their curves too.
