There was a string of decision failures leading into the cruise...including continuing to even have the cruise. Why go on a cruise during a pandemic? Why the fuck are the cruise lines even being permitted to operate anywhere? Global governments knew this thing was on ships back in JANUARY...and...

    ...

    ...

Shutting up now because I smell hammers. Peace out!

Id be ok with taking FL residents off, as long as we can send them back to the original state they came from and quarantine all their asses in Tallahassee for 2 weeks on their way north.

You are correct, leaving people to die on a ship without offering any assistance is inhumane.
I must point out that you are the one implied this from my comments, while I was focus on stating how I manage myself.
The issue as I see it at the moment is who is going to take responsibility?
I take responsibility for myself, and when questioned for my actions, others can see my reasons and either or agree or disagree. I also take responsibility for the consequences of my actions.
Does getting on a plane, or train, or ship immediately absolve people from the risks associated to doing so, and place their well being in the hands of the carrier?
Do these people have no responsibility for their situation?
Resources will be needed to aid these people, and the need is because of their action to go on the cruise. There is no way to know if they would have become ill had they not gone on the cruise, but at least someone was carrying the virus.
Perhaps we will all get the virus sooner or later, who can say?
IIRC the cruise industry already had a history of health issues that affected many passengers at once, I believe from sanitation issues, but there may have also been some communicable issues at a vastly lower rate.
Traveling in a confined space with many other passengers is always a health risk during flu season.
I believe that the poor quality of information that we are receiving about the pandemic is making tensions far higher than if we were properly informed.

So I've noticed most stores have put up some sort of plexiglass shield at the cash register, except that the card payment is off to the side, so people can still breathe on the cashier while they make their payment.

Friday threads during quarantine/lockdown are going to start going in some new directions, for sure.

We all need to get out more.

My wife's business is selling crafts online. What's she going to dooooo???? Oh yeah, stay home, stay safe, don't spread or get viruses.

I've never heard someone called a walnut before, I like it. My other new word is ankle, because that's 2 feet lower than a cunt.

it is all about the perception of safety...

Some idiot behind me at the grocery store (yes it was essential I was shopping for my elderly parents) with a construction mask on, only covering her mouth, said "I can't believe ya'll people comin out without a mask on risking ya'lls life and mines"

I turned to her and said "first off step back about 5 feet, you are supposed to maintain 6 feet separation you ignorant bitch... second your mask is not N95 certified AND it is supposed to be covering your mouth and your nose. If your gonna be complaining, complain about shit you at least understand..." I am so over the ignorance of people...

The nam vet in front of me laughed out loud and offered to buy me a beer.
