Pinion preload was 22 in lbs and backlash measures out to be 9 thousandths on average

 

@Shadowhunter @Usethe2nd I'll gladly take a clam, i don't care how many times its been passed around... hahaha I'm gonna pay to have it setup so my turnaround time should be pretty quick. I have a rear 3rd ready to go.

 

Knowing Bob as i do I’d swap his in as a temp unit while you rebuild yours

 

Is that an std joke? cause that sounds like twice as much work for me haha

 

well bobs not easy on stuff. I was the recipient of his original rear 3rd member and it was hammered enough to have to look for another

 

Didnt it explode on you? Or am i thinking of someone else

 

Hahaha thanks for the heads up! I really just need the clamshell, all the internals will be getting replaced anyway

 

That was my original 3rd which i had a buddy help me rebuild. After talking to the guys at Just differential the problem of ring gear bolts backing out on factory rear ends wasnt a surprise. Bobs was just ran hard and used...a lot

 

I got a Waggy D44 you could swap in if your really into working

 

crazy like a fox.
Of course it bounces about 15 times after every bump, but........

That what he needed too, just the housing/carrier and it was trashed to where it wouldn't work.

 

He had one explode previously. Replaced it with another stock elocker and now he's doing gears.

 

I've been on the fence about those. Mostly with my previous Toyotas but not the Tacoma.

 

No joke, used parts from me are, well used. And STD free.

 

I'm about to just plasma the whole front end off.

Well shit. I found out today that the scale chick at work can probably weld better than me. Helen Keller probably could.
I
noticed she left the browser window open to a website selling various welders on the office computer. Chatted for a min and told me she has a bunch of certs from Renton tech.
