2011 front billy's installed today, rims/tires monday and tsb springs on order

I know worthless without pics, but I'm still moving and haven't unpacked my cam yet.

5100's are installed and I love them! Set at 1.75 and the got the alignment perfect. They ride sweet!!! The truck does sway in turns as much and actually feels better over bumps than factory. I'm very pleased.

Ordered 265/75-16 duratrac's and pro-comp 7028's (black) and will have them installed on Monday.

Local dealer ordered my tsb leaf today, so those will be installed as soon as they come in. ( yes it's a 2011 and loaded down it sagged bad and hit hard on freeway) From what i understand from the tsb on the 2010's+ they replaced the bumps stops and shocks not the actual spring pack.

For those that are nervous about lifting the front with 5100's DON'T be it rides awesome at the 1.75 setting

 

That's not correct... they replace the Leafs and leave the rest alone. I know, I had mine ordered today too and are going on Tuesday.

 

I agree with you, i guess i worded it wrong. My dealer stated that in 11 they changed the leaf pack from the factory. The tsb stated that they "upgraded" the shocks/bump stop on the 10+'s. The regional rep actually told me over the phone that toyota created a hybrid leaf pack in 11, still 3 springs but a rate between the old ones and the replacement 4 leaf tsb pack.

then it wouldn't have the same part numbers as clearly showed by many on here as the old spring packs...

 

yep, when i showed him the part number on the spring pack, and a picture (thanks TW) of an 08 with the same part number he quit talking and told the parts guy to order the tsb leafs for me.

It blows my mind how 15 minutes or research on the net can educate a consumer more than a "regional rep" I wonder how much they make a year??? lol

so the dealer "warned" that the TSB springs ride horrible, how do you rate them compared to stock?

 

I had the TSB done on my 2010 DC in August. Trucks rides stiffer and more solid in the rear. Glad I had mine done. You won't regret it.

 

I don't have the tsb done yet and when going over speed bumps it wobbles from side to side way to easily. Does stiffer and more solid mean it's also more bouncy?

 

Stiff as in when you go over a bump, you just feel the bump then it stops. Whereas, before the TSB, it was Bump, bounce, bounce, stop.

 

What dealership are you going to? Im gonna try and get my 2011 done and am deciding what dealership would give me the least hassel.

 

Went to Toyota of El Cajon.. they were pretty chill about it. Described that the ride was harsh when I had a load in the back and that it has touched the bump stops a few times. The guy said "let me look at service bulletins" and then said "I don't think it will fall under 2010 though... oh wait, I am a liar... here it is" and he ordered the parts and set an appointment for me to have it done Tues..

Rear TSB is completely worth it.
While you there get the tranny TSB done too, takes them about 10 minutes.

I love the way my truck feels now. Smooth and solid.

 

I recently got the TSB done on my 2011 TRD Off Road. They replaced the leafs with 4 leaf springs and alignment. I already have the Billies, the bump stops do not have to be replaced on newer models according to the TSB.

How do you raise the Billies in the front to 1.75, do the shocks have to come off, or can it be raised while on the truck. Can this be done by myself, or does a shop have to do it ? I know Truck will require an alignment.

 

I' m debating on whether to get the leaf tsb done or not. The tsb will add about 1/2 inch lift, stiffen the ride and will keep the rear from sagging from heavy loads.

Would it be silly to ask why not just add a AAL w/o the tsb? With the leaf added, that itself should keep the rear from sagging with loads while giving you more lift.

 

from everything I've seen here the tsb with actually lift the back 1.5", and not silly to ask I got the tsb because in my mind the truck shouldn't sag/hit from the factory. They cover the cost under warranty and the ride will be the same as an AAL.

if you already have billy 5100's in the front (not stock billy's) then you can adjust the c-clip yourself.

 

Does the shock have to come of to adjust the C-Clip ?

 

yes , have to remove collar that goes over c-clip

basically remove shock from coil

 

I have that exact setup minus the wheels. TSB, 5100's all 4 @ 1.75 up front & 265/75 duratracs. Sits pretty much level. You should be happy with the final outcome

Also, if you don't have 5100's on the rear, they make a big difference over stock.
