Sweet campsite. I miss the spots like that I used to take for granted in the PNW.

Yes, supply shortages, occasional infrastructure closures like propane, water, RV supplies, and public lands either closed or over populated and getting trashed.

Also, gateway communities are incredibly stressed right now so be careful about where you're going and the impact you're having on the people around you and think about whether it's better to stay in.

I would ask for all please stay home so we can all move past this. If one person thinks they are special and the rules don’t apply to them then nobody does. Plus, you still have to pass thru communities, buy gas, use restrooms, go in stores. You could be unknowingly spreading it to others and making this crap last even longer. Nobody wants this, so please let’s stay home.

In addition, smaller communities and gateway communities simply do NOT possess the healthcare infrastructure to handle large numbers of COVID-19 cases. Don't risk the health of the people living in these places by traveling to them and possibly spreading the virus. STAY HOME.

I wish more people in the Phoenix area shared your ideals, the two hour radius from the city is packed with campers. Thankfully they closed Tonto NF at least.

Yeah, the number of people who apparently don't think the rules apply to them is depressing. We drove out the Apache Trail last weekend, and all of the west side trailheads in the Superstitions were just PACKED. They were parked on the shoulders of the damn road. People everywhere! Really disappointing to see. And yes, it's good that the Tonto has been closed, but enforcement is another issue altogether. People can just suck.

Just finished up my sleeping platform today. Kept it simple. Half inch plywood on four 2x4's in the slots, layered with lots of Killz primer for rot and mold resistance, wrapped in marine grade carpet. 3" memory foam mattress on top, and Reflectix shades with velcro for privacy and insulation.

All in all, quite happy with how it all turned out! Now I just need this virus to go away and the backcountry to open again...
