I did 50,000 or 60,000 maintenance at just over 40k. (I had just bought the truck so I wanted to know details of how the previous owner kept it)

Local used dealership had two of these a couple months back. Black and Tan. I wanted the tan one so bad.

Evenin' all. Late check in for me. :hattip:

Been decking all day. Almost got done. Started getting late...but will finish up in the morning.

I got started early. But the United Sisterhood Wife Union forbids any movement from bed before 9 am and strictly prohibits any physical activity before noon....despite the promises made the evening before. It also allows for frequent breaks, unlimited texting and mandates a 90+ minute lunch. :(

She did look good in her Yoga pants and tight t-shirt when she was out there. So there's that. :notsure:

Well, while you got to decking (with) the wife, I was wrenching on the taco. The spring bolts at the header collector rusted through on the drive home last night. Thankfully I knew this was coming so I had a new set and gasket in the rear door pocket.

The remains of the old stuff came out surprisingly easily with vice grips, considering there wasn't anything holding them in... got looking at the exhaust system and found that somebody took out the clamp after the cat, and welded a straight piece in instead. So from header collector to tailpipe is one solid piece. While removing the hangers to slide that all back so I could get the new gasket in, I found that the hanger that's welded to the frame by the trans crossmember.... rusted through! So now I've got a big hole in my frame, just in time to get it inspected and replaced this fall

After dancing a little jig, I got the gasket and new spring bolt hardware installed. Went to close the hood, and wouldn't yah know it. My hood latch wouldn't latch anymore. Took that off the truck and lubed/sanded all the contact points, got it back on and works like a charm now.

Every day is an adventure with a high mileage truck... 88A856FC-0FD2-4892-BFC7-B0EF81C2C9DE.jpg

My roommates comment to me was "I've never seen somebody so happy to have a hole in their frame..."

Got her done this morning. I'm, by no means, any kind of expert on this matter. So you wood workers could kick my ass at this kind of stuff. But it turned out pretty good. The Trex hide-a-away fasteners are tedious...but worth it in the end. And where you can't use them, color matched composite decking screws are the shit. No splitting or mushrooming. I still predrilled to make sure.

There's some shadowing that make some of the boards look like a different color. They are not.

So my boss decided to give all the workers who stayed to work a 1dollar ph raise, valid from the start of theses shanagins to the end of June. About half have gone home.
We are not under lock down and most things are still open but it is suggested to stay home if you can.
Hand washing and social distancing are in effect.
+Gass prices have dropped greatly and I can still go where ever I want.:bananadance:
