ok so it looks like that answer is a no. the unused connector slot on the 01-04 appears to be what fed the info to the bulbs for the shift indicator

 

i still have no clue what the small connector on the back was ever for.. oh well

I had a cable that rotated in a sheath stick into the back of my cluster, tell me what was soo bad about that

95-97 trucks had a cable driven speedo no electronics just a cable that stuck into the t case and cluster that worked

I wonder how the 70 series does it still an old school cable or electronics?

covid aint got nothing on rockauto delivery... my shits going to be here tomorrow.. i ordered it last night? nice.

 

This i feared my control arms were months away but no solo was still open the powder coater still open and ups still making deliveries

Crazy hearing how some of yall are shelter in place but from that perspective all is well

The j shift in my tacoma shifted a lot better than the t case in my 4 runner (loose as hell) but wasnt as crisp as the one in my buddies 4 runner

that thing takes the right amount of effort is really notchy and once enguaged is there theres no moving it around

Thinking about it sounds like what some people describe after switching to redline mt-90

 

They have two spring loaded detents, and a shifter seat. I wouldn't really want to replace the springs for the detents cause you have to split the case. But the shifter seat is pretty easy. My cases have always been notchy

 

if your j shift is sloppy someone done broke something.. theyre stupid simple units. somethings not right.
