@Empty_Lord Does Toyota have some kind of proprietary software other than TIS? If I'm buying a tuning laptop might as well get one that has the Toyota software that can connect to that diag port on the engine.

the diag port does not connect to the laptop.
the diag port is used with jumper pins. or i believe the OLDSCHOOL handheld toyota tester (good luck finding one)

 

Do you guys ever use that diagnostics port at the dealer? I've always been curious about it. What does it do?

 

no clue honestly. local guy had about 400 rwhp with his stock JDM gen 4 3sgte in his mr2.

yes. jump terminals and it causes lights on the dash to flash that can decoded into a code.
