I can attest to that as I wear them.

Service Connected ... hearing loss and/or tinnitus should be an easy 10% claim. Just document everything and be persistent with the VA.

...^^^... At 90% you should file for TDIU (Total Disability Individual Unemployability) ... if you cant't work and you will be paid at the 100% rate.

You can actually - successfully file for TDIU at a disability rating as low as 60%.

somebody else may have already said this in a prior post so sorry if I'm repeating something. I was denied for TBI for years and finally last fall i was given a rating. I think your best bet is gather any medical documentation you have, get sworn statements from buddies who were present, and get your primary care doctor to give you an exam. Its a huge pain in the ass but worth it. I was a combat engineer and was in several blasts in afghanistan and provided LODs related to those. If you got an LOD that will def help out.

That's absolutely shitty to hear that you had to go through such a hassle for shit you experienced.

For me, I got it right away. No denial, nothing.

I don't know if it was due to the pictures I sent or my MOS, combat tours, or w.e. but I did my claim online with nothing more than my own statements and pics.

If anyone is having issues, I do hope they find the answers in this thread, otherwise no I'm good. Got my 70%

It seems like the VA is really inconsistent with how they do ratings! Several guys I deployed with got a tbi rating straight out the gate. I had the same issue with ptsd. One doctor told me if i didn’t kill somebody or see somebody get killed then I can’t have ptsd. I guess two ied strikes on my truck, pulling buddies out of blown up trucks, civilians getting injured doesn’t count

If you have a rating and are looking for an increase give them a call. They will do the documentation and doctor visits and you submit the packet to the VA. It aint cheap. It ran about $1800 total. I was 70% and now am 100% total and permanent. My body is a train wreck and this definitely helps.

a lot of the doctors at the VA are clowns. One told me non of my issues were service connected and were all due to my childhood lmao.

The VA appears to have shut this kind of thing down last week. They no longer publish blank DBQs on their website. You can still attempt it with letters though. A big reason they did this is because fraud was so high.

Everything is digital. Has been for a while. Just throwing an option out there that worked for me and a number of my friends. You have to make your own decision. The phone call is free. I got mine, just trying to help out others who are in the same frustrating boat taking on water.

I know how it works and that you’re trying to help. I just wanted to point out that as of April 2, you can’t use private DBQs anymore.

Like @Boyk1182 said, it's to prevent, or at least limit, the fraud.

I personally know of one person that shouldn't be entitled to the benefits he is receiving.

A very well written letter from a doctor is the best thing. You’ll have to make sure all of what is required for a rating is captured in the letter, but it’s definitely possible.

My single statement was simply to share how common it is for those to claim something they shouldn't be claiming.

No chasing of any sort; it's my ex's brother in law.

Was with my ex 8 years and over those 8 years, you get to know family very well. I don't care what he does or what he's doing so no time wasted here.

Yep. It’s out there. I don’t know how some people look in the mirror.
