That’s really wedged in there, at the bottom of the amp where it faces the floor...

And? Use a multi meter to check the impedance between the trucks body and the ground lug on the amp.

or pay someone who knows what they’re doing to fix it.

I’m not paying anybody; My neighbor knows exactly what he’s doing! I’m good at installing various audio components, but I could never do wiring at the same level as my neighbor!

Two more Grumman LLVs that have been rusting away for two decades; There was a third one, but the picture didn’t come out, and I’d have to replay that level to get the picture again...

The fictional pandemic in The Last of Us does not seem to have caused a toilet paper shortage...

I completed The Last of Us just twenty minutes ago; Unfortunately, it was announced on April 2nd that the release of Part II has been delayed indefinitely due to the Coronavirus pandemic...

If I were to get up at 6-8am in the morning and play The Last of Us for ten to twelve hours straight (only taking breaks to eat and use the bathroom), I could probably beat the whole game in that time.

The whole game is absolutely amazing in every way, but it is not as open as GTA or Saint’s Row; It would be impossible for me to complete the main story of GTA V in one day!

I think my personal record for long consecutive time on the PlayStation would be about seven hours playing Vice City when I was like 14.

I do not know when I started playing, but as I said the other day, I once stayed up until about 4am playing GTA V back in 2013, not long after I bought it.

Two pages of butt connectors and bench testing with Bose speakers and whatever else, and we're back to the amplifier ground.

@Jimbo! good call on the software update.

So yeah, here's where we're at.

    1. Fix the grounding point for your amplifiers.
    2. Probably replace your amplifier fuse holder and fuse if it looks iffy at all. Verify your distribution block and fuses as well.
    3. Do not use dielectric grease, dielectric grease is non-conductive. It is used to protect electrical connections, not make them better.
    4. Make sure everything is on the most current software version, stereo and phone.

Super Mario 3 followed by the original legend of Zelda. Took an entire three day weekend where my friend and I took four hour shifts- one slept while the other played. Hands were so bruised from those square controllers that I still remember how much that pop quiz on long division hurt the next week.

The head unit will not let me do the software update. It seems to be having a lot of electric hiccups lately. Regardless of whether or not there is an issue with the amp, I will be replacing the head unit.

What’s really weird is that my iPhone will stream music through the HU via Bluetooth, but I can’t hear people on the other end when I call them (they can hear me); I paired my dad’s iPhone with my radio and the same thing happened.

It is my opinion that if there was a problem with the amplifier, it would be far more persistent than it is; My amp and sub were installed by my OCD audiophile neighbor who put way more effort into it than many shops would, and he used high-quality materials than most shops would use as well.

I’m 99% sure the amplifier and speakers do not have a short.

This is an issue with your external bluetooth microphone most likely.

Well, a new one is coming; This head unit is having software issues that I can’t fix so I don’t feel bad about replacing it.

If there is an issue with the Bluetooth mic then why wouldn’t I be able to hear anybody? They can hear me. When I had single-DIN head unit with Bluetooth I did not connect a mic. I could call people and hear them but they couldn’t hear me, obviously; Now, they can hear me but I can’t hear them. I should still be able to hear them through the speakers.

My neighbor tested the ground on the amplifier. The truck is also due for a new battery in less than a year; I've got an Interstate Mega-Tron in there now that was installed in 2014 if I remember correctly. It says on the battery that it is good for six years. I actually killed the battery one time because I was listening to the radio while cleaning and had to jumpstart it; I also noticed that it takes about 20-30 minutes to weaken the battery to the point that it struggles slightly when the key is turned.
