I have a list I check every day that I hope gives me all or at least both sides to whats happening .

Also Bloomberg online and TV and IBD Wallstreet journal among others .
I think that is how the internet works but maybe I am wrong .

I feel the only way to know what is really going on is to read both the conservative and the liberal sites , it is quite revealing to see what is on both sides and sites at the same time .

 

Does it not impact the economy if such a thing were to happen?

there’s a line you can toe with investment as there’s definitely some overlap but there’s also some clear overt political only stuff too. At this point Megan Markle buying a new car could turn the market red or green for no particular reason.

I just feel safer directly owning companies than index funds. I’m not sure why, probably paranoia that the index fund companies could fold and I don’t know what would happen in that case.

 

Sorry , I was not trying to post anything political . I guess my main point was to stay informed and print out records of accounts incase access is in any way compromised during this troubling time .

 

Not political at all, but I get most of my news from the DailyMail. I don’t care which way it leans, they just report everything that happens.

For me my retirement is index funds and that's managed by someone else. If and when (when) I get into stonks then I'll be buying companies stocks and flipping them and playing with that. For play, not for my retirement or anything like that.

That is true for ALL news we see /read and hear . I really did add it to my list because , just because .

I may have spoke too soon , there is some correlation to stories on other sites , interesting that it is from across the pond . One thing about the news is that it is always in one persons view at a time . On my list to cross check for sure .

 

I tend to avoid any web news that avoids showing stories and details. I simply don't watch much TV, let alone TV news.

 

I really like kayak fishing. Much of the time I catch nothing but I’ve still had a nice workout and enjoyed some alone time away from everything. There’s something about being on the water, human power only, that is very soothing. Separation from the hectic world and connecting to nature and all that.

never been a huge fan of fish either, but finding I enjoy it more now that I’m cooking my catch. Spotted bass are invasive on my lake so while I release large mouth bass I keep (and eat) all Spots that I catch.

 

ill have to give it another shot. They’re also a pain in the arse to clean.
