I have replaced my ignition cylinder with a new one. Because, sometimes it wouldn't turn to the lock position, unless I disconnected the battery. Plus, the key was able to be pulled out in any position. But, with the new cylinder in, sometimes it still doesn't want to turn to the lock position unless I disconnect the battery. Any suggestions?

Bumping this with an update, since I haven't received any help.

Found a video that it could be the shifter bushings. I have replaced the two bushings, but it didn't solve the issue.

Anybody have any ideas? I haven't found any other info online.

Never learned to drive an auto transmission so never had to fix one.

Just an update. I looked at it, again. There is play in the shifter going from to back. The play going from side to side was iliminated by the new bushing I put in.
