    Yeah, I just watched their video on their site. The fit and finish is really nice....that can't be argued. Looking at the basic unit it's relays and fuses in a nice box. Nothing more than that, really. You pay another $135, total almost $900 to get bluetooth.

    Another plus is that they're owned, designed and manufactured in the US. That's pretty cool.

    I work with this stuff all the time for work.

    I support anyone that makes and produces any products more so in the USA .

    It is not easy from design to market

    It all comes down to what you want to do and if you can design and build things no matter the application.

    No one can do everything not just limited to this one product

    I am sorry this is narrow minded just who I am.

    Yeah, its too rich for me. At the end of the day - it turns things off and on. I appreciate the good engineering in it, but I am not the target market.

    I'd like to do a raspberry pi or Arduino with a touch screen to trigger wireless relays. I know it can be done, I just haven't found the motivation to learn Python.

    It could also be done with Xbees and their Digital IO Line passing function. Switches on one end, some fets and relays on the other. Easy peasy :laughing:

    The OP just asked for DIY S-POD alternatives. Seemed like giving him some non-S-POD ideas seemed like a good idea.

    Also, there is a difference between inexpensive, and cheap. I don't run cheap shit, but I also don't throw a bunch of money at my truck when I don't need to.

    This is where I'm coming from too. Since the OP was asking about DIY alternative, seems like he was leaning that way too.

    There are a LOT of companies that sell some pretty fancy stuff, looks awesome and I'm sure performs well. CNC this, laser cut that, etc... The problem is cost-benefit. It costs a LOT, and for me there isn't much benefit beyond what I can build myself.

    I've always been a function over form kind of guy, but obviously there are many out there who value what it looks like at least as much as how it works, and are willing to pay a premium for it. If that's your bag, rock it, and be sure to use #overlanderlife. My hi-lift jack mounts may look like shit, but they work, and they cost like $9 in materials, including the stainless hardware. I don't need my off road lights and winch control to have bluetooth connections so I can operate them from 100 feet away. Again, cost-benefit. Maybe it's because I don't have an instagram account or that I'm an old fart who likes things simple.

    Awe man this is awesome. I have a Paranoid Fab bracket for under the din of the stereo. Would this fit perfectly under there or would a modification be needed? Everything is wired to my battery and looking for a better system. Did you do the Spod from the get go or later down the road? Also, did you re-wire it or someone for you? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks man!

    Interested so I picked one up and installed it. As you can see, I was planning on setting up some rocker switches, if all goes well might just convert it to rockers. Tested out some lights and works, also added a circuit breaker.

    SwitchPro never does any discounts fyi.

    Ive got 8 switches, can dim/strobe/momentary any light that I want and I never have to figure out more than positive/negative plugs. With relays, they have 5 plugs, switches have 4, and the accessory has 2. Where do the rest come from. I am not an electrical wizard. Cant make things appear..
