Really the biggest issue with rear shocks being "too short" is if you are catching air alot (like going through woops) where the shocks are continuiously taking hard top out hits... this is where limiting straps are needed. But you will hardly ever blow a shock out because its too short, that is shorter that the resting arch of the leaf pack, in normal driving and off roading. id say 95% of the time someone blows a shock out its either due to it being old and worn out, or its collapsed length is too long which results in the weight of the truck being stopped by the shock and not properly by the bumpstop.

Also as far as the prep and leaf liners, feel free to hit me up if you want any pics or guidance.

885s in the front with a single AAL in the rear. Running a camper shell and have 1.5" of rake with bed unloaded and even with over 200 pounds it's still not nose high. I didn't have to adjust any angles. Everything is within spec and no vibrations or noises.

The add a leaf that I have is this one: https://www.sdtrucksprings.com/toyota-tacoma-add-a-leaf-kit-2005-2017

Will I need UCAs if I plan on continuing to off-road after installing OME 888s on my 5100s?

Guys, I would appreciate your input. I have a 2016 stock suspension. I have put a few heavy load in the truck and now my back end is lower than the front. i imagine i have ruined my leaf springs. Not looking to do a lift, would just like to get the rear end back up the way it was. I am considering the firestone ride-rite to accommodate the heaver loads , if i have anymore. What would be the best way to go just to get back to a little rear lift? please let me know if i posted this in the wrong area, etc.

Have you thought about dobinsons? I believe they have a heavy pack that you can pull a leave from and make it a medium duty pack until you get your rrt then just add the leaf to adjust for the added weight

I put a medium duty Dakar leaf pack (the 6 leaf pack) with an ARE camper shell (about 180lbs). My front was lifted 2" (Bilstein 5100) and the rear lifted about 2.5" just from the Dakar leafs. Basically the spring lift wasn't affected at all by the weight of the shell.
Holding up very well still 2 years on.

If you're carrying heavy loads only now and again, I'd look into air bags.

yeah, i am looking at the air bags. going to do those for sure, would like to install at the same time i 'fix' the spring situation. my truck is stock, no lift, so hopefully the lift in the rear wont be much and will get it back to stock basically.

Great idea. If you have no lift and arent going for any lift at all ever, just get some light duty springs and the air bags and you're golden
