Bilstein 6112

No clue. I still have my 600lb springs in my basement. I upgraded to the bilstein 650 lb spring after I added more weight.

That's wierd. I went from 5100's to 6112's and have done it that way a few times with the 6112's? Once on the 4th setting, now on 3rd. It's been a while but I seem to recall that issue. Is the whole front end off the ground or just one side at a time. Where the jackstands are placed matters? IIRC

 

I could do it on the 4th setting. 5th is just a tad too much even with whole front end off the ground.

 

try just doing one side at a time with the tire down on the other side. If you can? Bet that would work as it would take more pressure to lift the truck

 

Finally ordered my 6112/5160 set up, cant wait for them to get here! Also if anyone needs a 650lb bilstein spring, shock surplus has some in stock.

 

What kind of pricing you get? Wondering if places are offering any small additional discounts due to Covid. I’m waiting to pull the trigger on a set of 6112/5160s.

 

Nothing special, I ordered from HeadStrong Off-Road , it was $1211 with them assembled. They were out of the 650lb coil so I had to order that from someone else.

I don't think you will see any discounts on stuff to be honest.

Anyone have settled front height numbers with 3rd gen AC on 5/6 setting?

Need med Dakar leafs in the back (fuck TSB spring) and don’t want the rake to be ridiculous once settled. Also don’t want to screw my shock travel, so was considering 5100s + 888 too.

 

Did you order a set of those yet? Just wondering how that goes. Also do you get any click noise under compression like that?

 

Yes, I have the bushings. Dont have a press. With everything going on. Have to coordinate, removing them. Getting them swapped out IF they will work. Have to measure first.
Clicks? Oh yea. I have all kinds of noises from that.

Did anyone install their 5160 RRs like this? I was wondering why bilstein specifically wants a 115mm gap between the mounting bracket and the hose fitting on the resevoir.

 

I’m curious about this as well. I’ll be installing 5160’s soon and would like to mount them the way you have yours

 

I am just throwing out a huge guess here.....but I'm wondering if it has anything to do with heat and fluid expansion due to the movement of the oil back and forth. Running them hard might expand the housing minutely and you maybe don't want the bracket near the expansion?.....just spitballing....

 

It's probably just to hold the reservoir in the middle, for balance and grip.

 

If you have it to close and dont route the hose correctly I'm sure there's been a few that have kinked the hose. Plus, its bilstein, engineers, have a reason.

Has anyone experiencing excessive driver side lean? I have mine set to 6/5 and my driver side still sits a little over half an inch lower. Thinking about adding a top plate spacer to the driver side.
