so i traded my 06 double cab trd sport for a 2011 mustang gt 5.0 about a month and a half ago. i love the mustang, its super fast and very nice, but man i miss my truck! i cant help but think what might have been if id have kept it. i had said if i couldnt find my exact 5.0 i was gonna drop some money in the truck.

it sold 6 days after i traded it in, so obviously it was a good truck. i owed about $16k on the truck, now i owe $28k on the gt. im not complaining, i love my gt but once you have a tacoma its like a relationship haha. but hey, ive already decided that in a couple years when the mustang doest suit my needs, ill have pretty nice trade in for a newer tacoma! sorry for the rant, just needed to vent!

What's it like to go from a truck to a sports car? [At least you don't have to help your buddies move ;).]

haha yea true. its definitely different...

    pros
    1. better mpg (i know right? a 412 hp car getting better mpg but its true. i get about 20.5 on a tank, and thats gunning it alot)
    2. its a lady getter no doubt
    3. faster, more luxury (leather seats, satellite radio)
    4. can you say factory HID's!
    5. first of its kind!
    cons
    1. less feeling of security, by that i mean in my truck i knew i could get anywhere in any kind of weather. not so in the mustang
    2. tires, can you say expensive! 19x8.5 wheels=assload of money for tires
    3. no mudflaps
    4. no hauling capability, but then again i rarely used it.

actually you bring up a good point, we get teased for not driving "american" vehicles yet my "american" FORD's tranny was made in where? thats right CHINA!!!!

ford quality seems to have gone way up, they are second on my list behind toyota. but ive already had an issue with the passenger airbag sensor shutting the airbag OFF when someone is in the passenger seat, and turning on when no one is in it

i know right, my first tank i got 18.5 but i was turning it on and revving it up a lot for people to hear and was doing a lot of high rpm crusing stuff.

Hey start enjoying you Mustang you have a real nice car there! American icon and if you take good care of it your 1st run GT may be a collector one day. Trucks are a tool to a guy and us guys get attached to such a wonderful mate but the GT has its own attributes too. Good luck:)

"pros #2" seems like it would be more than make up for "cons ##1-4". But yeah, I get your point on "less feeling of security"...

You can find a used Frontier for cheap in the meantime.:rimshot:

i feel you on most of these. I went from a gas guzzling suv to a 2010 mazda 3. love the gas mpg increase but i feel like I am going to get smashed like a bug if someone runs in to me. Also, this is the first car i have owned that is not 4 wheel drive. roads suck around here in the winter so I am a little nervous to see what this winter has in store for me.

fwd is good and all but this car is super light. so im just worried about the drifting around......that I dont want unless it was intentional. :p
might get some weights and disperse them through the car to help... gotta get these summer tires off and get the winter tires put on soon too.

Mine is just 8 more ponies and it gets about 15. Get on the gas and drive it like a raped ape and it's more like 8. So yeah, 20.5 is great gas mileage.
