I run 285's on both trucks but it's because they are a great size for the types of trails we hit. IMG_20191023_193857_391.jpg

All is personal preference, of course. Mine is if you have the common 2-2.5" lift, 285/75's look best hands down. Functional as daily driver and sporadic off-road capable in pretty much all low to mid-range difficulty scenarios.
Trucks with too small a tire setup just look off to me.
My first set of 285 c loads I was getting up to 20-21mpg hwy.
My current e load 285's look absolutely killer, but my best hwy is 19.5 tops now, average 18.5

Its 1.5" in the front, 1" in the back. It's a lift I found specifically for the pro, the guy claimed that theres no change in ride quality, and guaranteed no rubbing with 285's on stock pro wheels. Surprisingly he was right, it aligned perfectly and doesnt rub anywhere, not even the mud flaps.

The lift has a piece that sits under the spring, along with a really thin top plate spacer up front, and blocks in the back. It also came with bump stop extensions. It rides/handles just like before. I'll link the kit:

    https://westcottdesigns.net/product/fox-trd-pro-lift-kit/

Edit: I ordered the plates to do a cmc from b.a.m.f. just in case, but I ended up not needing them, unless I wind up getting aftermarket wheels in the future

What wheel offset you have? I am thinking spidertrax when I get 315s but don't want too much poke with my -12's..

I think a 33x10.5’s is a good fit for these Tacoma’s versus running a 285 or some of these skinny tires people are using to achieve a 33” tire. Love my Kenda Klever R/T’s in this size. Much happier with these than the KO2’s and Duratracs I was previously running.

I barely got 20 mpg with factory tires lol. I think factory specs were 20/22 with the 245s. I get 14 mpg on a good day with 265s.

    Edit - I'm a second gen
